Maddie HATED bats, as far back as she could remember. It was the one thing that could freak her out. It was the one thing she'd ask for help on. Right now there was one of those small freaky creatures flying about her house. She was flipping out and trying to trap it in a single room while she hunted for a tennis racket and tried not to scream every time it swooped near here. She finally had it confined to one room, her heart was pounding and her hand trembled. Somewhere along the way she'd managed to put on a pair of gardening gloves in case she had to handle the icky creature herself.
Maddie picked up the phone, despite it being like 12:45am on Saturday morning and called one of her guy pals. She hoped he was still up and at home, he didn't live too far away and the sounds the bat was making was freaking her out.
"I need you," she suddenly realized how she must sound, half out of breath her voice an octave higher than normal. She felt rather foolish holding the phone in one hand, a tennis racket in the other, clad in only a simple white nightshirt that barely covered her hips. "There's a bat in my house, would you please come over and help me get rid of it." She shivered at the thought of trying to down the bat and carry it outside herself, despite the fact that she was wearing gardening gloves just in case.
