Warm water, but not hot. Mostly I hold myself open and let the water pressure do the work. I'll move my hips to change the angle and such.

Guys can be pretty silly, especially when it come to women! Actually, it's interesting that you brought this up... Guys don't generally understand women (understatement) and one reason I'm picking this particular scenario is that it deals with the "secret life of girls"... the whole, "What do you do when you're alone" thing... Some Details

okay, so, personally when I masturbate in the bathtub I find it easier if there isn't so much water. More water and you get too much splashing. So, like, usually only a few inches of warm water (personally I like the water already in the tub almost hot)

Turn on the ceiling fan so that no one can hear the splashes - once my mother was chatting with a friend of mine and said "Ch...erm...Chicklet's masturbating in the bathtub" and I was quite embarrassed.

It's awkward to get into the position, very awkward. I ended up laying down in the tub, can't really watch myself without straining my back. I think the awkardness adds to the whole thing. It's not a subtle position to get into, therefore it's very deliberate (and maybe just a slight bit "perverted" too). The swimming pool/hot tub jets are far more subtle, something you could do with others around, as you said. On the other hand, positioning yourself under the water of a bath tub faucet seems much more private, not at all something you would ever do in front of others, even a boyfriend or husband...

Actually, I'm not writing this one from a female point of view. The rough premise of the story is that the neighbor of single woman becomes a peeping-tom-voyeur at her bathroom window, and ultimately witnesses this particular scenario of self-love. I do have a few twists in this premise that I think helps make the story more exciting and unique. The other aspect here is that this is just the first story in a series of at least 4 involving the same two characters.

In general, I do think I would have a harder time writing from a womans point of view, especially with this type of story. But since you bring it up, I might try it just to see how it turns out...
