Basic Questions for budding author.

2nd, I'm sorry for throwing some basic questions.

1. If I want update/correct a published story/chapter what is easiest way to do that? (it seems, no matter how much I try, I miss something)
2. If I wanted to submit to an editor for cleaning it up, what do other authors do in this case?
3. Is it possible to promote the author via links when using this site?

1. I've edited my story and want to replace the published version with a new edit. How do I do that?
2. Try checking the Editor Forum, or the volunteer editors tab in the control panel. In either case, be prepared for crickets. Editing is work, and the handful of people willing to do it for free are thus in great demand.
3. In some cases. Not in stories. In your signature here in the forum is usually okay. There are some threads devoted to that activity, though they may allow only promotion of works published on the site.

3. Is it possible to promote the author via links when using this site?

In addition to what @Bamagan said, you can also put whatever links you like into your profile description. They won't be made clickable, though, so anyone wanting to visit them has to copy and paste.
