Okay, so the new baseball season is only 6 innings old and I'm feeling the itch to talk baseball.

Some early predictions:

1) Mo Vaugh will suck again this year

2) Sweet Lou will HATE life with the Devil Rays

3) Having the highest payroll in baseball and no middle relief means that the Yankees don't get to the ALCS.

Oh yeah, and I may be going to the Yankees home opener on the 7th against the Twins.

YEAH BABY!!!!

Sounds like you're a tad excited!

My son was the same way though when we got to watch the Yankees play in spring training. He even got to run the bases after the game with the other kids.

Mom wasn't so excited about getting two toned boobies from the sunburn. Nobody told me these games were an all day event!

Have fun.

And what's up..........

with FORMER Prez. Bush throwing out the first pitch? WTF? Where's Dubya when you REALLY need him?

We have only just begun to buy!

I predict that

Arizona Diamondbacks will be :D

World Champions again in 2003

I am a Cubs masochist.... er, fan.

Pitching staff looks great, but lineup is brutal.

GO CUBBIES!

In Dusty we trust? Or in Kerry, or in Sammy?

Who else do they have on that team? What am I talking about, it's the Cubbies! They'll go nowhere, as usual.

Enjoy the season.

Wood, Clement, Prior, Estes, Zambrano.

Their bullpen is rebuilt, even though Alfonseca is out for the first month with a bad hammie.

Grudz leading off (ouch) until Bobby Hill gets his shit together in Triple A.

Sosa will be Sosa, but he will be better if Alou stays healthy.

Too many ifs to win, but they will be better than last year.

Ah, baseball...

I remember going to the Yankees home opener in 1984, parking up on Coogan's Bluff in Manhattan, overlooking the site of the Polo Grounds. Walking down the viaduct and over the Harlem River into the Bronx. The crowds of anxious fans, their enthusiasm infectious, after the long, cold winter. It was a warm day for April in the Apple, and passing through the general grit of the City, the gleaming white House that Ruth Built stood like a beacon before us. Into the ballpark, through the turnstile, up the ramp and through the passage, and then the explosion of green grass. Everything was there, as if it always had been, the crenelated façade of the outfield wall, the monuments to Miller Huggins, the Babe and Lou Gerhig. The air was sweet, the beer was cold, the world was perfect...

Play ball.

You just let me know when you're up here again and I'll take you. I want to see a game through your eyes.

GREAT AV!

thank you. Syracuse born and raised. I'm ready for Carmelo and the boys to bring it home this year. Texas is next on Syracuse's BIG 12 Feast.

I have been to a couple of opening days. They were usually cold and grey. I went to Opening Day in St. Louis in 1998, the year McGwire and Sosa chased Maris. McGwire hit a pop up that carried over the wall... it was the first of his 70 that year. I think I would have enjoyed the game more if it wasn't so damned cold. It made beer-drinking tough, but I managed.

 Actually, week of the 7th. I don't know if there'll be time for a game, but I'd like to get together for dinner maybe or something. I'll be with the kids at my mom's in Jersey, but I should be able to sneak into town one evening.

I used to bleed Dodger Blue...

but with the management of the team since the O'Malley's sold them I have ceased to care.... and that is a shame...
