Banning private schools.

There is a growing move afoot to ban private schools. I believe that this movement is going to grow over time, mostly fueled by the various teachers unions. It's all about the money.

There were a lot of consequences regarding public education as a result of the Wuhan Flu. The total closure of some public schools had parents seeking alternatives and one of those was private schools along with home schooling, and communal home schools. The 'online learning' also pulled back the curtain on what was transpiring in the public school system re. critical race theory, sex education, and now the mask mandates. A perfect storm as it were.

The Federal government funds the public school systems to the tune of $13,187 per student. (This is actually broken down to per student per day but the $13 grand number would be the total if the child attended daily.) Since the beginning of the Wuhan Flu approx. 1.5 million kids have been withdrawn from the public school system. That is a nationwide loss of $19.78 BILLION dollars to the various public schools. This, of course, translates into a loss of jobs for teachers and administrators.

The current uproar over the various school boards, their response to the parents and the threats from the DOJ towards those parents has had the effect of accelerating student exits from the public school system. The rational on the parents part is as expected as it is rational. If their kids aren't enrolled in the public schools they don't have to deal with the school boards OR the FBI. This is naturally going to translate into even more loss of monies for the school districts and the effects those losses will demand.

So the various teachers unions and some other advocacy groups are beginning to lobby for the banning of private schools and, I suspect, home schooling will be included. I further suspect that if the "progressive" political elites would jump all over this if they could figure out a way to exempt their own kids.

I have no idea as to how far this effort is going to go but the fact that this effort is gaining traction in some circles means that it is likely to start moving to the forefront of public discussion. Terry McAuliffe's comment, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” has raised a LOT of hackles, but it is indicative of what the top down statist's think about the parents and the direction they would want things to go.

Again, if it weren't for the fact that the "progressive" elitists send their children to private schools this would be a shoe in. The various teachers unions are among the largest voting blocs for the "progressives" and then there's that God awfully large pot of money involved. They also know that without some sort of radical legislation the parents are gong to win. The school systems will financially starved into submission.

I can hardly wait to see the various proposals that will remove choices from the parents while preserving their own elite options.

There is no movement to ban private schools. There is a movement to push public school money to private schools.

Let's all hope that happens. The money should follow the student, not the school.

It is already happening via vouchers. Private schools already have money. Taking more money from schools that don't have other sources of income (like private schools do) doesn't benefit students.

Ishtard only made this thread so he could type "Wuhan Flu" several times like a fucking idiot.

Here's a crazy idea: Maybe those schools could do a batter job of educating so people would want to spend their money there. It just might work!

How do people spend their money at public schools? Excellent typo in an education thread, Dud. What a dope.

Can you imagine if he had a podcast?

It would be the most boring, uninformative right-fringe podcast on the planet.

Yah, whatever works for ya. Public schools exist and deserve 100% of funding for their students...private schools have their own money and should not receive any govt funding.

Deplorables talking about education is like getting a lecture on the clitoris from Michael Jackson.

Yep, pretty much. There is a movement by folks who send their kids to private school to get out of paying public school taxes. The whining movement.

1. Private school will never be banned....it's unconstitutional (period).

2. You will have to pay your public.school tax even if you pay for private school(suck it up buttercup).

Sure, but only for the ones that go there. I'm okay with socializing the financing of K12 ed, but not with the delivery, which has been abysmal for years.

He's trying to keep the ball in the air. It's already so dated enough of an overused xenophobic/racist term that other more socially savvy xenophobes and racists keeping up with the times are barely using it.

Those who go to private schools are funded by private money.

"Guns, bullets, range, civil war, guns, cockroaches, Wuhan, blacks kill more blacks than anyone else" rinse and repeat.

No typo, read it again, bright boy.

Maybe you batter read it again, dopeyfuckknuckle.

He'll catch up with the other racists at his FBI Friday breakfast.

I think poor kids should have the same opportunity and not be locked into lousy government schools.

I'm not talking about poor vs rich. I'm talking about funding for public schools improperly being used for private schools.

But continue to relate it how you want without involving me.

Valid point. Perhaps the teacher's unions shouldn't have picked this fight.

Change the law so the money follows the kid and there isn't a thing improper about it.

What makes government schools think they have a permanent claim on our money independent of the job they do? They do not.
