I get to vote. I'm in a swing riding. Don't know who I'm going to vote for. Don't know how I'm going to vote when the day is here. However, I will present to you how I am kind of being torn here by showing as a percent of how much of my ear I am bending to each party or the riding-candidate.
Week 1 of election, I was like:
75 Conservative
5 Liberal
0 NDP
20 Green
Week 2/3:
75 Conservative
0 Liberal
0 NDP
25 Green
Now in Week 4, I'm:
50 Conservative
0 Liberal
0 NDP
50 Green
Currently, the social policies of the conservatives are the least to my liking, however the liberals haven't articulated to me what exactly they are doing, however are reasonable in what they plan to do, and the NDP simply pander to "social justice", whatever that may be. Greens, I know, are agreeable on social policy.
Economic policy I desire is a slow and steady growth. The recent massacre son Bay Street, Wall Street and Canary Wharf has rocked the election. Many say that this was poor timing on the government's part to dissolve in September so whatever. Conservatives want to go with steady-goes it, Liberals want immediate but not-too-immediate action, NDP want hare-brained action. Haven't heard anything from the Greens, this concerns me.
Environmental policy is a crap-shoot really. Dion (Liberal leader) thinks he has a plan but can't articulate it, Harper (Current PM - Conservative)doesn't have a plan but he can articulate that and the NDP - well, they're out in the left field somewhere. I'm sure they have something. Greens have a plan and can articulate it, some of it I can agree with and some of it I disagree with. I liked Harris' (former Green leader) plans over May's (current Green leader) plans.
Now it comes down to how do I want my riding represented as to how do I want Parliament to be set up. This I'll need thinking.
