Wish I could see them better (my monitor is all screwed up). But I get the general image in fuzzy gray and muted colors. I went up in a balloon once, seems like a million years ago now, very peaceful and beautiful at dawn. Only sound was the occasional blast from the burner. Floated down into a field of grass and hardly felt the basket touch down. Then had the traditional champagne toast.

These pictures are absolutely amazing! I love watching hot air balloons as they glide across the sky. Where did this take place? You are very lucky to have been able to be there to see this magnificent sight.

We have a very small hot air balloon festival here in Ohio each year. It's so beautiful to watch them lift off the ground and slowly drift through the air. But, ours is nothing like the one you posted about. I'd love to see that one day.

Have you ever been for a ride in a hot air balloon? We gave my brother and sister-in-law a certificate for one on their 5th wedding anniversary, recently, and they are so excited about taking that ride.

Wish I was the one doing it....maybe one of these days I will.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures....now my imagination is soaring along with those balloons.

This was the Thunderbird Balloon Classic this past weekend.

Spectacular photos, thank you. Evoked memories of driving north up some now-forgotten highway in upstate New York without knowing a balloon rally was just underway on the far side of the next hill... climbing it slowly I was treated to several peeking over the peak, then as we crested it there were dozens spread across the valley awaiting the right moment to loft skyward.

Was it really so many years ago?

the color, the beauty and the size of the things is utterly amazing.
i loved that cow one as well (i noticed the size of the basket to the rest of it) it looks like it could jump over the moon in real life.
and tony the tiger is grrrrreat! and the energizer bunny is too much! LOL
i just cant imagine all of these in the air at one time. they would simply block out the sun because they are so huge.

We have a baloon festival here in Vermont(in Quechee I think). I remember about 5 years ago driving on the interstate and all of the sudden all these ballons were in front of me(one had in fact ended up landing in the median).

I think the Cow is comical in that it is sponsered by "United Dairymen of Arizona". I had no idea AZ was such a Dairy producer!

Sigh...

I think their cheeseheads would melt in the heat. But they could just bring Nachos and drizzle it on as the game goes on. Hey, I'm onto something here, off to the patent office.
