Bad Stories

Let me first say... I love this site! I've been reading Literotica for... well... quite a while. I've even posted a couple of stories. Lately, perhaps due to the new formats and ease of posting stories, there have been quite a few stories that were'nt quite ready for "prime-time" as they used to say. Most just needed to take advantage of the volunteer editors.

While I'll never understand why folks don't use the volunteer editors??? What I wonder is - if we can all come up with an idea that will send these stories back for more editing? Is there a way we can vote to do this? Maybe help Laurel identify stories that need one more look? I know there are folks that visit this site that might "misuse" this feature. What do you guys think?

Personally I think that when you come across a story that you feel is "not quite ready for prime time" then you should privately email the author, using annonymous feedback, and tell them what you think.

Do it gently and with supportive type language and perhaps even suggest that they use the volunteer editors.

Some of the writers who are new to this board may have missed seeing that the editors are available.

True they shouldn't have, Laurel does a great job of "getting the news out" about them, but hey everyone makes mistakes.

So I guess what I'm saying is: I vote we don't screw with the current system, just start being maybe a little more helpful to the new writers that are showing up.

I still remember when I first started writing. I was nervous and in a hurry to "get the story out" so that I could find out what people think. I still get in that mode now and then and find myself hurrying a story. And yes, when I do that I would not mind getting a kind note saying "You had a great idea, but ..."

Okay, I've spouted enough drivel, let's hear from the rest of you guys on this.

Very good answer Ray. I guess I generally tend to shy away from negative feedback. Perhaps that's why it didn't occur to me???
