Bad chest pain...

I don't really talk about this, but it is always on my mind... Troubling me.

I have this bad chest pain, and it happens every know and then. It feels like my heart. It worries me, because I have a very high risk of having a heart attack...
Now, I have been to the doctor and got it looked at, but all they did was listen to my heart beat... Any one who knows me well enough, knows I don't trust doctors...
They said this pain I speak of is not normal (of course bloody not!), and that they can't see anything wrong.

They hardly even check... So my question is, does anyone else have this pain? What should I do? Both public doctors and private don't seem to care... This pain really is a pain in the ass.

I get tightness in my chest... shortness of breath, etc... when I'm stressed out.

Is it something like that or a sharp pain?

It is more of a sharp, stabbing pain.

I have it almost all the time. It gets really bad when I am stressed out.

Exactly where is it on your body? On your chest above your heart or on your arm? Have yo uhad your cholestoral checked? There are a lot of other things that can be done besides just listening to the heart for irregular rythem.

I get pains in my left upper pectoral muscle sometimes and sometimes in the are where my shoulder meets my torso. I think they are just muscle pains from lifting too hard though because I normaly only get them when I am in a weight lifting time period. I have not had one in a few months but I have also not lifted in a few months.

I am only 22 and in ok shape so I don't worry about my heart so much. If i get the pains again when I am older I will have them checked out more throughly.

Here you go:

There are many reasons for chest pain. Chest wall pain, muscle pain, lung pain, gastric, esophageal pain, pain in the pleural sac, vasoconstriction and on and on. Whether you trust Doctor or not is not the issue. The issue is whether or not you want to find out what is causing the pain and put a stop to it. Pain is a way your body has of telling you it is in trouble.

If you wait too long, you can do some types of permanent damage. So you can wait or get it worked up. The Doc is only as good as the information that you feed him/her and as persistant as you want them to be.

Your choice.

Chest xrays are not really very useful. Now a spiral CT, that is the ticket!

This pain, I would say is in my left torso, just a little above my nipple.

I don't get it from lifting heavy things much at all. Lifting sometimes starts it though.

I also feel, I like bleeding pain as well. Best I can discribe it.

EKG?
MRI?
Blood enzyme check?

They do any of these?

Does it get better, worse or unchanged when you take a deep breath?

Any mention of angina?

Thats about where I get mine too and I don't get it when I work out. I get the normal good burning sensation from lifting but no sharp pain. I will get the pain randomly some other time when I am just sitting down.

Get it checkd out for sure. Go find a good cardiologist and ask them what they thing. Don't go to a GP because they don't have the specialized training for this. Even if it turns out not to be heart related the cardiologist will have probably seen enough people with a similar pain to help figure out what it is.

I do want this problem to be found and fixed. I have been to doctors and told him/her every thing I can... Theyjustlisten to my heart, and tell me to not worrie.

I don't trust doctors because they stupidity almost killed me. They fucked up an operation, which cursed a bleed in my spinal cord. Which did a large amount of demegae to me...

Even though I don't trust doctors, I still go to them when I need to. I just don't trust them whe n they say nothing is wrong without looking - that's how I almost died.

Neverhad any of those tests when I see the doctor about this pain.

It gets alotworse when I take a deep breath. So much that I so metimes have trouble breathing.

Next time...... look the doc in the eye and ask "What is it?" and keep asking untell they tell you what it is.

Go find the nearest research/teaching hospital they will have the better/best cardiologists and have them look at you. If you know anyone that has heart problem of any kind ask them what they know about cardiologists in your area.

Pretty hard when they say there is nothing.

I don't know of anyone with chest pain where I live, that's why I came here and asked.

I'll look into finding a Cardiologist.

Sounds like a chest-wall thing. maybe a cracked/separated rib or maybe a preoblem with the membrane covering your left lung. An x-ray would probably be an exilent idea.

I use to have those, I finally swallowed a cam for the Dr.. It turned out to be a Hiatal Hernia.

One prob lem... That operation I said above was spinal fusin... The metal fusing my backbone in place acts as a shield, and X-rays can't see anything.

And...

....get at least an EKG. If for no other reason then for your piece of mind.

I recently had this same kind of pain. If it hurts to breathe, have your doc check out the possibility of asthma. Asthma can be caused by so many factors, including plain old acid reflux.

I have asthma, and that's why I had chest pain. It's worth asking about.

I have had 2cams in my throat. Though, they looked at my stomch (a diffrent problem)... Think I should get another one?

Get it checked out even if....

Chest pains are no joke........it can be something simple
as stress and/or indigestion......but it can be something
very serious such as blocked artery, angina..........or
worse.

I should know......because both sides of my family have
history of heart disease........both my grandfathers died
from heart problems.

I don't care if you have to get a 5th or 50th opinion, but
get your ass to a cardiologist so at least you can put
your mind (and heart) at ease.......

I have had a acid reflux problem, still do.

I will talk to a doctor about getting that checked out.

How wide is the metal thing? If it's just down your vertebral collumn, that's ok, you just want to look at where the pain is
