This is an open thread that takes place backstage at a rock & roll concert in Los Angeles, California, present day. I'll be playing Billy Taylor, a modern alternative pop/rock artist whose first album has just gone gold and whose first single, "Fly Away" has just cracked the top 10 on the charts. This is his first Los Angeles show and he's opening for Jane's Addiction, one of his biggest influences and favorite bands. He has just finished his set and it was a big success. The packed arena went nuts and didn't want him to leave the stage, a pretty rare feat for an opening act. Billy is on cloud nine at the moment, chilling out in his dressing room drinking a beer as Jane's gets ready to take the stage.
I'm looking for all types of characters: groupies, sleazy tour promoters, record executives, dope dealers, celebrities, etc. Anyone who might be backstage at a rock show, looking for some kind of action
Just jump in with a little character description and we'll see where this goes
Billy Taylor, 27, blonde hair, blue eyes, lean but muscular, 6'0", 175, guitar player/singer/songwriter
IC:
"YES!!"
Billy's arms stretched in a "V" over his head, symbolic of the triumph he felt inside. This was the big time. This was L.A., the center of the music universe and he had just firmly left his footprint right in the center of it. 13 years he had spent honing his craft, the countless hours practicing alone in his room finally paying some dividends. Girls screaming, guys pumping their fists in unison with his gutteral riffs and pulsing drum beats, screaming his name, wanting more of him. This is what he had dreamed about and it was finally happening.
But even in his state of euphoria he knew, along with success comes temptation, lots of it, especially in this business. A semi-naive suburban kid from Iowa, he wasn't quite sure what to expect from this new life. He was about to find out.
He finished chugging a beer in his dressing room and listened to the commotion just outside. He heard his name being called over and over again, amongst the assorted female squeals and random chatter. Time to face the music, he thought, and opened his door, grinning from ear to ear as he saw the motley crew now surrounding him.
