I credit Shades all the time.

I credit it with perpetuating the belief in society that abusing women is sexy. I've read chapters of it to the women in the self defense class I teach and my wife uses Twilight in her self esteem workshops for teenage girls.

I'm waiting for one of Random Houses planted articles to come out and mention ads like this.

"self esteem workshops for teenage girls" are there any self esteem workshops for teenage boys?

Yup. It's called "growing up as a boy in America." Granted, not all of the students do well, nor are all of them taught very well, but the curriculum is clearly geared toward boys.

But if you're hoping to hear about a class with a formal structure, there are in fact many classes out there geared toward boosting the esteem of kids regardless of sex.
