My editing consisted of corecting spelling. Your deminstrated intolerance for critisim makes you the prime suspect. I want to know how it happened, if you did not do it.

Your obviously the most inteligent person on this board...

Don't start throwing blame when you can't be sure that that blame is justified. It's not my job to find out who deleted your post, nor is my concern. You have insulted me, blamed me for something I didn't do, and now you want me to find out who's responsible... I don't think so... I'll be too busy picking lint from the crack of my ass...

And besides, if I were able to edit and delete your posts... don't you think that I would have deleted the whole damn thing...?!

You would be a lot more believable if you did not protest so much, or if you had not taunted me, or if you had not admitted to censuring other posts. But you chose to to act, and now you can't reist being childish in your protests. Grow up and you may recieve the respect that you want.

I don't know either of you, really, but Samuari? Is it possible that you're human and you accidently did the delete yourself when you were editing? I'd give HSWriter the benefit of the doubt- I don't think he has the power to delete posts here, only Laurel does.

Just type it again, Sam. :)

<waits>

Oh, come on! What if I dance on your lap? Will ya, then? HUh? Please? <grins and winks>

Actually I think the best thread was the original Superhero league thread becuase 1) it was the most fun and two it created damn near a million spinoffs ( at least it felt like a million)

Best Rper male- Hands down Renegade won this one. ( That is because I did not get really good till recently hehe)

Best Female Rper- I'd say............. ( Personality #2: Shaddup if you say one woman is better than the other then "we" will never get laid) ( Personality #3: Shaddup) (Personality #4 he has a point) (#1: Shaddup you guys I have to make the announcement) OK best female is ( Suddenly train passes by and answer can not be heard)Wheeww it was good to get my answer out of the way

This is the sequence of the events that lead me to believe that I was censored:

9:48 I posted the original text. I notice some spelling errors and chose to edit them.

9:51 I post the edited text, and it comes up on the thread as edited. I then take care of some email.

9:56 I receive email notification that the thread had received a response.

9:58 I find my comments deleted from the post, and the taunt in place.

I really do not know what occurred, and of course if I am proved wrong, I will apologize. I just don’t know of any other explanation, and the only one that I’m receiving is that it’s impossible.

The only explanation that seems to fit the facts is for some to have hacked into Laurel and Manu’s system, and acquired their passwords.

I do believe that the free flow of ideas across the boards is far more important then the comments that I have to make, because it goes the integrity of the community.

Thanks,
Sam

That doesn't fit the facts either, because the BB software will add "edited by Laurel..." when her name and password is used. Likewise It would add Manu's name as the editor. That's the whole point of the "Edited by" stamp in a post. It's there to show when a post was edited and by whom.

I do not know of any way that your post could have been deliberately edited by anyone without leaving a edit stamp.

I have, however, seen posts disappear and get corrupted without any human intervention. I have had the post displayed after entering it, and disappear by the time I refresh the forum index to see if anyone responded.

Your post may not appear as you entered it, but I very much doubt that HSwriter or anyone else edited it.

If you say so,

but it did, and does seem awlfully convienent, particularly with the taunt coming right on the heals of the event.

HSWriter I appoligize to you and any one else that may have taken offense at my actions.

Are you sure about that, WH? Because I could swear that in the thread with that spam, that there was no edit stamp. And that's in the General Board, which is Laurel and Manu's domain. I will go check. This whole thing is curious.

Wrong. Check this one:

Laurel deleted the troll's posts entirely in that thread (as she should have) and then edited mine where I quoted him. My post now says something like "I'm a mean old troll" in place of my quote from his attack on Angelique's son. And there is no mention in my post about Laurel having edited it. It shows that I edited it.

You're right April, no edit stamp of the spam removed. So, I guess it's possible somewhere.. :)

Ahh Shucks...

And I spent the day thinking that we had witnessed the miracle of the Immaculate Deletion! Which would be ok, because I believe in miracles, and what better time then the third day of Chirstmas?

Whisper, I'm sorry, I don't remember what the post was. The gist of it was that we had looked at the awards forum with an open mind, and we disagreed with the choices. I was prolly pretty sacastic, and I sugested that he was being aribtary when he deleated theards when moving them would accomplish the same purpose but would allow us access to the posts, unless he was afraid to do so...Something like that.

It would appear that you edited the post after Laurel did. Was there an edit stamp from Laurel's edit in the post before you edited, or did you edite it before she did?

It would appear that this (vB) BB software will only allow one edited stamp per post. The old UBB software would treat the edit stamp as being part of the text and stamp a post every time it was edited.

Hmmm... Good point. I edited after Laurel because my post looked silly with the newly worded troll language compared to the original. But I don't remember there being any edit notation from Laurel. I just noticed the wording in my post was different and figured it had to have been changed by Laurel.

Somethin' happened

Wiether it was WH's 'untouched by human hands' deleation or someones deliberate act, an event occured. If there is a problem with the software that under some circumstaces deleats all, or part of a post (as is what happened here), then it needs to be brought to the attention of the folks that can fix it. If it is something more sinister, then there is a security problem that really must be addressed. If the problem is my stupidity or ineptness then I need to look at being in a less sophisticated enviroment.
