Awards for Sexual Role Playing

Hello. I have been asked to help with these. Several people here have asked if we could have awards for the srp board. Okay here goes. Because it will take alot of my, and the moderaters time, I want to be sure you are really interested. If you are, leave a note here. If you aren't leave a note also, saying why. I had my hesitations so started this thread to find out if you all really want this. Help us by saying what you would be looking for, ideas on categories etc. Some of the ideas we have had as far as categories are:

Longest running thread

Most popular thread to read

Most popular male poster

Most popular female poster

Any other ideas? Please help us out.

I love the idea! I think it's nice to give someone some credit. It’s very stimulating.
Maybe we could also vote for the most original basis of a story. And then maybe, for the first two categories (and including this category if you like it) we could invite the makers to turn it into a whole, complete story and post it under that section of lit. You know under a kind of “special” note. Maybe even from the different views of the participators. That way you could get some great stories; same (basic) story, written from different points of view..

Wow.. I’m rambling.. (somebody stop me!)

Anyway, I think it's great to show some appreciation to eachother this way.

I joined this site as a writer, but I have since become addicted to the SRP threads. There are some very talented people out there who deserve recognition! It's only fair that they get their share of the spotlight.

Well, i haven't been here long but awards are always cool. You could always throw in some more like the best newcomers... uhm, lifetime achievement? Maybe something for those taht start the best tthreads or soemthing... I dunno a few more things.

There is a difference between Best Male Performance and Best Performance by a Male. You can decide which you want, or if you want both.

Best Female Performance
Same as above.

Best Thread
This is voted on. It is not based on the longest running or most active thread.

Best Original Plot
The thread may flop, but the idea was good.

Best Post
This is the single best post, not the best performance.

First of all, as usual I am writing after being up like thirty six hours so always take angie with a grain a salt. But I think it could be a fun idea Merelan. I think you guys have come up with neat ideas for 'awards' so I will not try to add.

But I have two thoughts and since I am on my third wine I am juss gonna tell ya whether you like it or not!

I think people come out here mostly to juss have fun and all. But by the creativity that I see I think people put some real feeling in what they write. Not that they write about themselves, but they do write about feelings. And I donn think I'd like to see that turned into a competition.

So maybe intead of 'best' this and that, we juss say 'one a the funniest' or 'one a the most romantic' or 'one a the nastiest'. Ok, go ahead and call me a girl! but is the way I feel.

Plus, if there is any 'worst' of anything I will not enjoy and not read or play in it at all. I hope all you guys out there have the egos ready and waiting to withstand being the worst sexual partner on Litty. I know this girl doesn't.

Well. Actually I do, and if ya vote me the worst I will chew your goddamn nuts off. Make what Hannibal Lector did a Boy Scout picnic.

Great idea Merelan, please ignore everything I juss said.

PS: More importantly, I juss noticed I am a guru. I remem being so embarrassed in that first thread I joined. The KillerMuffin and Kepic bailed my sorry ass out and I have been grateful ever since. But Merelan, who do I haffta blow to get that customized tag line? My big puppy eyes looking up at you in envy.

awards for best Male writer under 50 posts and best female writer under 50 posts? (or some other arbitrary number)

I like the idea of some funny ones too. Will work on this some more and let you know what's going on.

Angie darling, you hit the nail on the head. I don't want to take away the fun, no one does. That's why we hesitated in doing awards here. But so many people had wanted them that we thought we would try and see how you guys felt.

Male/Female Author awards

Not to rain on anyone's parade - but how do you know if someone is a male/female author? Just because a person writes all/mostly one gender does not mean they are that gender, even if they do it well. I checked one of the entries under the members list and it had no gender entered. And what if someone writes both genders?

Thank you, I have thought of that. Figured that if they are nominated for a role played as a male, then thats what they are when playing it. And vice a versa. We have some very talented cross writers here, is that what you call them?

One of the Guilty Partys

Yep, I was one of the guys that bitched on the Author's Award thread that some of the best writting on the site was done here, and not eligable for awards. In fact some of the very writting on this board is not sexual but theme oreinted.

Angie has a great point about the fun that we have here being it's own reward. I think that one of the purposes of the awards would be to encourage others on the site to stop in give a look arround, and maybe contribute. We are allways needing new folks to play with, and this may be a way to encourage some to show up.

I like the idea. I've written in several different type stories, some requiring lots of thought, some requiring a dirty mind. I can't think of any catagories not already posted except maybe worst spelling, that I got a real chance at.

RPing awards? It makes one wonder. I can think of a a fwe specific examples of good rp'ers who can't spell, have no grammer, and can't seem to find the "shift" key or punctuation keys on their keyboards.

I think we are awarding content, not grammer etc. Though it is annoying when they do things like that isn't it? Especially when the run the whole post into one long paragraph with no pyuncuation.

Anyone else have any ideas? I am starting to get organized lists and things and will start the official nominations early next week, so keep an eye out.

I love your category ideas, guys, but one question. If there's going to be an award for Best Closed Thread, how are we going to decide that? I mean, only the people who post there would be allowed to vote, and that might have biased opinions.

No, if we do a closed thread award, it would be open for all people to vote on. Not just the participants. I read quite a few threads I am not involved with. For those who wonder, no, I have no life outside of Literotica. It is my whole being, my pirpose.

I'll not wait for the categories - thank you - I vote a tie between Angie and Merelan for the two best female posters, but there are a lot of close thirds!

Another possible category - best creativity! Killer Muffin has come up with some beautiful and unexpected twists!
