Kendra was 20 with big blue eyes and long brown hair, that when not tied back dropped down the middle of her back with long curls at the end. She had an amazing body, athletic, tight and toned, but then again, also hidden behind oversized clothes. No one could make out her curves or the fact that she had 32DD breasts that stood perfectly perky without the help of a pushup bra or anything else of the sort. She even wore glasses with square frames that made her look like a complete dork, but then she was ok with that.
She hated when people gave her a second glance, in her own eyes she was nothing much to be bothered with so she kept her head down and her face in her books. When her professor from her ancient history class came up to her at the end of the lecture she closed her book but didn't make eye contact with him. He smiled at her and told her that he was offered to go to Guatemala for a tour of the Mayan ruins in Tikal National Park with 3 students over the spring break. His First choice was her being as she was at the top of the class in grades.
For the First time in forever she looked up at someone, actually making eye contact and smiled brightly " Oh my God, Really??? I've always wanted to go...Thank you so much"
Her professor smiled and handed her the forms she needed to fill out in order to go. She took them, gathered all of her things and headed back to her dorm room, her classes being over for the day. Without Hesitation she sat at her desk and began filling everything out, reading and rereading everything over and over. She had never been this excited about a trip in her life. She got up from her desk and paced the room, thinking about what to pack and where her passport was.
She looked through her closet and found the box with her passport and all the money she had saved up over the course of the semester. Even though the trip was fully funded and she didn't need to bring any money she wanted to have it anyway just in case. The next few days went by in a flash with all the shopping and packing she had to do. She finished her classes and mid terms, acing all of them as was the usual for her and sat waiting in the lobby at the airport for her professor and the other students that were getting to go.
After they were all checked in with their bags being taken to the plane they were told it was time to board. She made her way to her seat and strapped in. It was actually her first time on a plane and she was nervous as hell even though her excitement had taken over. She grabbed her book and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes and waiting for the plane to take flight. At some point she had fallen asleep and was now being gently woken up by her professor. She gave him a sleepy smile and buckled her belt, not even remembering when she had removed it in the first place. She looked out of her window and couldn't help but smile as she saw the airport of their final destination.
They got off the plane and a man was waiting with a sign that said each of their names to take them to the Resort. They piled into a large van with all their stuff and headed off. The main part of this trip was to see the Ruins but there was a day for them to go to other places and do some more sight seeing but Kendra's main focus was the Ruins. She was so excited that after all her research of the Ruins themselves that she was actually getting to see them in person.
Once at the resort they were shown to each of their prospective rooms and told that the tour will be leaving first thing in the morning. She closed the door to her room and flopped down on the bed. Her heart was pounding in her chest and she could feel her stomach in knots. After a Shower she changed into her pajamas, set her alarm and snuggled into her bed. When the alarm went off at 5 in the morning Kendra was already awake and reading all of her notes on the research she had done herself.
She got off the chair and walked over to her suitcase, pulled out a pair of tight jeans and her favorite sweater which was 3 sizes to big. She looked at it and put it off to the side, instead she grabbed a button down blouse and looked through the bag for her powder blue bra. After finding everything she was looking for she got dressed, pulled her hair up into a ponytail and for once decided to wear her contacts, she put her sun glasses on her head and draped her sweater over her arm then grabbed her notebooks, pens and bag then headed out the door.
She met up with her professor and her classmates in the hall and they all walked down to breakfast together, all of them talking happily about the tour they were about to go on. Kendra excused herself after eating and headed to the small gift shop in the hotel to get extra batteries for her camera, just to be prepared. After a little while of walking around the front of the resort everyone was ready for the tour.
They piled into the Van and headed off. As they pulled up Kendra's breath caught in her throat, it was so much more then she had ever thought. They checked in with their guide and headed into the ruins. The guide made sure to tell them all that they needed to stick close together as there were still a lot of dangerous places in the Ruins and he didn't want anyone to get hurt or lost. Kendra smiled in response and they all followed the tour, each of them snapping pictures and jotting down notes about the things they were told and the things they were seeing.
Kendra, of course, soon got lost in her own thoughts and had somehow managed to get sidetracked away from their tour group. She wandered through the various halls and small bends trying to find her way back. She even called out to her professor a few times but got no response. Through corridor after corridor she wandered in search of her group but found no one. As she continued to walk her flashlight went out and the next thing she knew, she was falling over something and landing on the ground on her ass. She winced in slight pain and tapped the flashlight against her hand, finally getting it to light back up. She looked around the room and saw only a large golden chest. She crawled over to it and traced the markings on it, reading them aloud "To those that wander, be afraid, for what you do not see now will appear in time."
She looked at the box curiously and found more lettering, this one harder to decipher. She bit the corner of her lip as she worked each one out in her head not realizing she was speaking softly "The being within will awaken when the time is right and one that is pure is near"
Kendra laughed at words and started to stand up 'this must be some kind of joke the locals play on people'. She grabbed her bag and started to walk towards the opening of the room, but found that it was no longer there.. "Hello??? This isn't funny......I'm with the tour.... I took a wrong turn"
