Well, I'm pretty new here and I'm trying make my way around the website. I submitted a story a few days ago, called "Great Songs and Great Sounds" and I haven't gotten any responses yet. I know it's still early yet, but I'm wondering if it's already been thrown out. I didn't space correctly, and I've read posts elsewhere on the site that correct spacing is a basic 'must'. I'm not quoting directly, but that's the general idea I get. Is this true?

You will get a response one way or another.

Don't even start worrying about it until at least a week, often two. There's usually quite a story back-log.

You can always re-submit with better formatting, etc, but that will put it at the back of the line.

Good luck!

Mine are taking three days right now, but you'll know if it gets rejected. Have you checked your 'view submissions' page recently?

Hi, Theriot, and welcome to Lit. and the AH. You have just asked THE QUESTION. that almost all new authors ask. Because there is a contest on now, it will probably take about four or five days to post the story, if it is to be posted. If it's not posted, it will be marked as having been rejected.
