...or (horrors) the, even worse, triple post!

I'm sure there are old timers to this site that know these steps, so, this is for us newbies!

If you find that Lit takes a long time to "submit" your reply, or comes back with a "connection has timed out" message, try this:

1. Click your "back" button as many times as needed to get back to the thread window (where the responses are - twice is usually all it takes);

2. Once back in the thread, click "Reload/Refresh" to reload the page.

One of two things will have happened: either Lit will have added your reply, or not - but either way, you will be able to see if it has been added before you resubmit and post it again. :)

Have fun!

Hmmm, almost feel like that was written for my benefit!

Yes.............. Gulity as charged........... I did commit to a triple posting error the other day - computer error I would like to add.....................

But I shall bear this in mind if next time it is my fault...

Is anyone available for punishment duty?!?!?..... I'll bend over now and wait!!

On your knees, head down, ass up, and hold your ankles - submissive one...

As requested...................

(begrudgingly kneels and lowers face to floor)

"I am sorry for committing the sin of a triple post"

(hmmm - quite looking forwards to this - maybe I should do it again!)

These are the steps I'd recommend.

Watch the little bar graph as your post or edit goes in. I've found that even if it goes only 1/4 of the way before the 'timed out', then the piece is *usually* 'in'.

When you get 'timed out'--

Back arrow to the posting or edit, highlight it and "copy"-- saving it into your buffer. If it's critical, and you might forget (and copy something else), paste it into an email to yourself or into a Word doc. Save that doc.

Use the back arrow further (earlier in the chain), till you get to the list of all forums. Then start heading (towards later) to yours, and see whose name is last in the thread. That would confirm you're in.

If not, give it 5-10 mins, there's often a delay. Be sure to go back to an early screem, like literotica discussion forum (else you won't see the changed entries, at the lowest level).

If nothing turns up in ten mins, then consider waiting more, if it's a peak hour, or things are just slow. But then go to the posting, and use 'reply' or 'edit' and paste the thing you saved. If everythings' fucked up, do this a few hours later.

OH, and if you later see two postings, then go to edit, and delete one; sometimes reducing it to a 'period' is easiest.

Not completely written for your benefit, BBB! I have a few dbl posts out here - which is what led me to try a different way to find out if the post actually got posted the first time or not.

But since I, obviously, have not been around long enough to learn the "recommended" steps, I say do what works for you and try to be supportive of anyone making the effort to learn about the LIT quirks and how to get around them. Ho hum...sometimes it doesn't pay to be inquisitive.
