I downloaded a copy of Jackie Chan's "Miracles" a while ago, and the recent threads have reminded me of it. The problem with it is that I get the dreaded "green-screen" when it plays, which I think means I have the wrong codec. If someone can walk me through the process of figuring out what I need, and where PRECISELY to find it, I'd really appreciate it. Either reply here or add me on yahoo so I can harass you until I get it right. Thanks again.

What exact type of media file is it and what player are you running?

Windows Media Player, Realplayer and others all have update versions to keep up with for best results. Have most other media files been playing ok?

avi is a fairly inefficient format, so is it an older file?

Link me up to a copy and some info and I might be able to help.

LOL, How appropriate for this forum....

GSpot (Codec information appliance)

It's your best friend.

yeah i've used Gspot before, and it tells me I have the appropriate codecs installed, but the only reason I've ever gotten that green screen before is due to wrong codecs. I"ll work at it some more I guess.

I used to have that prob with some movies that I d/l. I found a different player called VLC. It has played everything that Ive tried with no prob at all. I don't know alot about codecs to offer any advice. I used to screw with them but could never figure it out. If you are interested though, I'll add a link to VLC. Its a free d/l, fairly small. I dont think Ive touched another player since I got it.
