Avatar image

Okay. so I’m trying to upload a new profile pic/avatar but I’m getting a message that it’s not passing moderation. I’ve reviewed Lit’s avatar guidelines about nudity however I am not nude. Yes, my knickers are sheer but I’ve seen bare breasts and butts in other profile pics so I’m kinda confused.

Here’s the picture in question…is this seriously considered nudity?

PS - I apologize if I’ve posted this in the wrong thread

There have been new rules recently regarding images, so perhaps its pushing the envelope there...maybe just choose another?

Yeah, I saw something about new rules but I’m still also seeing profiles with avatars containing fully exposed breasts and butts. I guess my query has more to do with why some people can while other’s can’t

couldnt tell ya as I am not a mod and am actually still "somewhat" new to Lit, but if you are interested in showing your body for whatever reason(s), why not just make a thread in the amateur pic forum and you can showcase yourself there (?). its what I have done to some degree of success, though i strongly advise you post links using an image hosting site (like ibb, postimages, tumblr, redgifs, whatever) instead of attaching the content itself.

So I tried to upload a different pic from the same photo set and it’s already been turned down. I guess on a positive note, moderator reaction time for avatars is pretty quick.

I’m starting to wonder if the shade of my panties combined with the fact that they’re sheer is what’s causing the issue. Like, maybe the initial bot or filter that new pics go through thinks I’m not wearing anything. Here’s the second picture that I tried to upload.

Thanks for the response. I actually have a Reddit account where I post my explicit pics. I guess that’s where these fairly tame photos will end up. I’m just curious to know why some are allowed full-on nudity for their avatars while cheese cake style photos aren’t. I’m an audio creator so I like to have an avatar that closely reflects the body behind the voice.

Id guess its one of two things, but I am totally speculating:

1. LOTS of users here, so the admin/mods may not have got around to checking everyone
or
2. People grandfathered into it when it was more acceptable. But that would be unfair to be honest to someone like you who would seemingly prefer to show some sort of nudity in their avatar.

I know what you mean as far as grandfathered. Lit’s been around for a while and I’ve noticed that the older acounts are typically the ones that get away with it. For the record, I don’t have a problem with nudity in other people’s profile pics and would never report anyone’s avatar but it is frustrating that my tame pics are being denied while other’s have actual nudity.

But I get it…Lit does have a lot of traffic and accounts to moderate so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that some stuff slips through the cracks.

Oh well, such is life! 😊

The best way to think about this might be, they got away with it in the past.

If one of those same "older accounts" were to try today to upload the image you see, the present moderation process might not pass them.

I don't believe that it's about who the person is. There just isn't a feasible way to go back in time and unapprove stuff which was approved potentially years ago - or even just a few months ago, before the new policy.
