I'm happy to edit. I only work in google docs. I'd prefer short stories up to 12,000 words but if you have an epic novel I'm happy to look at the first few thousand words and give you some feedback.

I'm not a beta reader so if you primarily looking for SPaG I'm not going to helpful.

I focus on flow, style, techniques and any inconsistencies. I will be talking to you about POV, head hopping, descriptors and show not tell. It might be worth looking up what those mean incase they are not areas you want to consider in your writing.

I'm also going to be pretty blunt. I'll use humour to point out anything glaring so please also consider that before asking me to edit. I know from my own writing I think I've produced Shakespeare then my editors get their hands on it and I feel I barely have a grasp on the English language, but i love their no nonsense approach and i edit in the same way. I'm mentioning my editting style as i dont want to upset anyone when editing their work, but i also wont change my style.

I will read any genre and will be honest if it's an area I would not read out of choice.

I would suggest scanning one of my published stories before sending me a pm as it will give you an idea of my style so if yours is vastly different you might want to look for another volunteer editor.

I don't have professional credentials and don't work in the editing biz. Still, I'm strong on the basics and willing to provide input on the flow, character development and opportunities to increase the imagery in stories, if that is what the author wants.

I'll work in Word, OpenDocument Text, or Giggle Docs, as you prefer. I usually send an author a two-page sample of another edit job, so they can decide whether it suits their needs or not.

I like to suggest changes that the author can accept or reject, rather than simply making changes, which are usually hard to notice. I also put comments in for authors to think about, with respect to the above issues. I try to keep it light and playful.

I'm happy to help. I prefer .doc format so I can track changes. Not really into incest or BDSM, but will look at non-con with mild bondage if that makes sense. I can be blunt, but I also acknowledge it is always your story and you can take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

I do have a post up on the editors list and have replied to all emails I have received thus far! I seem to he getting a lot of LW requests lately. I'm off work due to injury for a bit longer so have some extra time. I'd prefer less than 20,000 word docs, but if it is a little longer, contact me. I would like to think someone who writes more than that probably writes a good story anyway so might be inclined to read.

I also find it helpful if you have any specifics you want me to look for. I have a medical background and will pull you up on anatomical impossibilities too! Long time writer and editor tentatively returning.

Won't don't way out there stuff. Not willing to edit cheating, bdsm, consensual, and bodily fluids.

Like horror, sci-fi, fantasy and the like mostly but willingly to consider others.

My editing process is typically in two phases. One read through with a breakdown in review. The second is a more focused approach of the story with notes in it. I will not touch grammar issues often as I will concentrate on story, setting and characters.

Editing help

I do some editing at my FT time job and I have a Master's degree that required A LOT of writing and editing. I've also written a few short stories myself, so I know how easy it is to make dumb mistakes while writing.

I can focus on grammar, sentence structure, pacing, tone, and character development. I will be blunt, but kind, if the story is dragging. Just as a note, I'm a female editor if that matters to you when selecting the right editor for your story.

I work FT, so I don't have the time to edit stories longer than 10k.

Genres I will not edit: Incest/taboo (step-siblings is fine as long as its made very clear), scat/piss, rape, hardcore BDSM, anamorphic/non-human, hard violence, murder, anything underage, and from what I've gathered, the Loving Wives category.


Fairly open to edit anything else (even stories in the reluctance category), but nothing too out there in terms of sex, fetishes or plot lines (Science Fiction and Fantasy for example. I personally feel those two categories shouldn't be lumped together, but that's a different issue entirely).

Professionally, I have been a tech writer/editor for the last 30+ years or so. I’ve edited several stories here on Lit before. Many are listed on the Favorites tab of my profile (https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=1346701&page=bio).

I don’t have too many taboos. I won’t do horror, sci-fi, non-human, scat, snuff. I won’t tell you my preferences because if it’s not listed, you may think your story is not something that I’d be willing to edit.

I will only edit complete stories. (I’ve had people who have tried to give me a synopsis or the start of a story and wanted me to write it … I don’t do that.)
My word limit is in the 10,000 - 12,00 word range … it had better be a damn good story to go much beyond 12,000 words.

I add value by checking helping with grammar, spelling, and inconsistencies in the story. I will ask you to run it through a spell checker before you pass it to me.

When editing, I gently make suggestions, providing explanations as appropriate. You, as the author, have the responsibility to accept or reject any of my comments. My feelings will not be hurt if you reject any of my suggestions.

Hi all, I am a professional English Editor, but also aspiring writer. I do Beta-Readings professionally, but for forum members I am willing to do a favor.

To me sex should be about making people happy, make them better than they are, build them up. This mean that I prefer not to get involved in stories about violence and degradation/humiliation. I prefer to work in Libre Office/Word, and for short stories I will dead, give you my honest opinion, point out spelling mistakes/typo's and sentence inconsistencies.

Also, unlike an anomymous editor on literotica I will not attack your writing style or personality. I will only address your writing, and in a way to make it better, not destroy it.
