I am available for 20-30 page short stories. Absolutely no novellas. I work in the loving wives and interracial love categories only. No incest. Sexy hot lesbian OK! Absolutely no violence. No sex scenes too much for me as long as it is consensual. Light S&M is OK. Nothing worse in S&M category than "Story of O". (If you have never read "Story of O" do it!)

I am a former newspaper editor, but I will be gentile. I prefer stories written in the style of Ernest Hemmingway with short declarative sentences. I stay away from compound-complex sentences. I want to see lots of dialogue with quotes in separate paragraphs.

I use the AP stylebook, dictionaries, the urban dictionary, and other style references. I also rely heavily my own experience as a police/crime writer.

Hi, I'm trying to get into "amateur" professional editing and commission work (i.e. paid editing, but for individuals). To that end, I need a fairly extensive library of sample work I can show to people. If you wouldn't mind me linking to your work on my blog (and possibly providing a sentence or two in endorsement) then I might be the person for you.

What I will/won't work on:

-- I will do any gender pairings: M/F, F/F and M/M. Bear in mind I am (mostly) heterosexual and male, if you believe that makes a difference.

-- I will not work on stories that have: underage characters (in sexual situations of course), "guro", snuff, excrement play (peeing is OK but not my thing), bestiality, violent non-con, or anything else I find particularly vile but neglected to mention.

-- I would like to work on stories which feature: interesting plots, deep characters, science fiction/fantasy themes, horror themes, mystery themes, sentient non-humans. I have a bit of experience with writing humor though no one has sent me anything yet.

-- Short of text that is completely incomprehensible, I will work with "bad" writers.

What you can expect:

-- Grammar/spelling (Fluent in U.S. dialect, familiar with the British dialect)

-- In-document comments.

-- Usually a page of Editor's notes, with thing like analyses of style, characters, plot etc with ideas of how you can improve your text.

-- I don't usually give plot suggestions, but I'd be glad to if you ask for it.

Available again for editing. Although English, I have read enough American stories to edit in American as well. I am really keen on spelling and punctuation (I think a story is much more readable if it adheres to some kinds of rules) and I can suggest changes to stories where they are inconsistent or difficult to read.

I'm available to help edit your works. Normally, I help with plot, characters, and spelling/grammar, but I'm willing to give anything else a shot too. Edits will be done in Canadian English unless you want me to use British/American (I can swing any way you want me too)

I'm fine with most genres, no S&M and Gay though please. Length isn't really a problem, just that the bigger a piece you send me, the longer it's gonna take
