We are having a bit of Autumnal weather as of late around here, especially in the evening. So simmering away on my counter is a pot of homemade stew. Full up with fresh picked vegetables, potatos I dug myself. And sitting on the counter rising are some rolls ready to be dropped into the oven with just the right timing to be hotter then hell to go with the stew.

I love New England in the fall, I know I am rushing away summer but there is nothing, to me, like autumn foods and smells and sensations. I cant wait for apple picking. A brisk walk, leaves crunching under your feet, talking, picking the best apples to come home and make a crunchy topped pie. A bit of cider on the side.

Throwing on a warm sweater, grabbing a blanket, and curling up with a mug full of cocoa or hot cider on the porch (wish I had one)

*smile* I really do love autumn in New England

LoL...I know what you are talking about hun. I was in Vermont this weekend and the leaves were ever so slightly starting to change. We were camping and thank gawd for the fire cause it was freezing at night and in the morning. Right now it is a bit chilly but the sun is shining and the sky is blue. No complaints at all here. I think I might make some shepards pie though tonight. I've a craving for that stick to your ribs food.

You're making me sick! I'm down here in Hell with at least 2 more month's of 90+ heat!

God, I miss the fall. :( We only have two seasons: Summer and Summer Lite.

I love fall as well....I just wish that winter didn't follow it!

I really dont mind the winter, there is something about it I find invigorating...renewing. I honestly could do without summer though.

that sucks... I love the fall, for my birthday and the colours.

I love this time of the year as well...

Especially here near Boston...its so great driving around, seeing the kids playing football on their front lawns...the leaves turning colors...the warmth of your house at night...going to highschool football games, just being outside...even though its chilly out, still being able to just relax and enjoy it...and even more football...hahaha...i love this season:D

God, I miss home :( I was raised in PA. Fall is my favorite season.

Kitte!! I'm right with you. Autumn is my most cherished season. And I truly hate the heat of summer.

Hrrrumphh! If it never went below 80 I'd be happy.

Fall is nice, but I moved to get away from the nonsense that comes after it.

Fall is my favorite time of year !!!
Here in Indiana we have some beautiful falls.
By the lakes it is spectacular!!!
I love to walk the dog and crunch in the leafs!!!
The cool crisp air is intoxicating !!!

It is, walking as the sun sets feeling the cool air permeate your lungs. It seems to clear the mind. Give perspective.

I adore wrapping myself up in a blanket to drink my coffee on the porch in the cool morning air of early september. Watching the kids trudge to school with their backpacks weighing half of their body weight. Having the steam from my coffee warm my nose as I drink it. As most New Englanders will admit, autumn is my favorite season. Cool mornings, hot afternoons, and the scent of leaves, dew, and apples in the air. And sweaters! Sweaters are neccessary when you go out at night. There is precious little that is better than throwing on a sweater and taking a walk in the twilight with someone; arms twined around each other for extra warmth. *sigh* Autumn is the season for love, not spring in my mind.

I love this time of year. Warm days that still feel like summer, and cool evenings that have the crispness of Fall.

AUTUMN

My favorite time of year is the FALL. I plan my vacations AFTER labor day. I am taking 2 weeks to go back packing in the Adirondacks, in the near future. No crowds, in fact hardly a soul out on the trails in the fall.

There is a special smell and feel to the air when autumn approachs... I can never put my finger on it but it is there, in the air.

Emerald_eyed... come on with me... put on your pack and let's go....lol and anyone else that wants to go
