One thousand years in the future massive armored knights rule the battle field, Arthur has returned and rules over a resurrected Britannia. The Arthurian court rules with wisdom, compassion and bravery. In the shadows lies and deceit seek to unravel the hard won piece, Guinevere heart falls to Lancelot a soon to be relived tragedy. The lords chafe under the rule of Arthur many seeking power denied them. The rise of Mordred in the court of Camelot soon plunges it into darkness and despair. Gaining allies Mordred lays siege to Camelot. Fighting enemies within and without of Camelot, Arthur takes to the field of battle. In a one on one duel, Mordred shatters Excalibur, slaying Arthur and splitting the knights of the round table in half. Camelot is gutted and the nights flee to the island of Avalon. Lancelot sends Guinevere on a quest to re-forge Excalibur and reunite the scattered knights and lords of Britannia. Mordred rules Britannia placing a bounty on the heads of any knight loyal to Lancelot.
3000 AD: Knights pilot massive mechs called Armbursts mechanized armatures surrounded by plates of armor. Armbursts are maintained by loyal retainers called squires who themselves seek to become knights. Armbursts fight with energy weapons, Swords, axes, maces, spears, bows, daggers, shield of all sizes and descriptions. There are governed by the code of chivalry and there fidelity to there lord. At the age of 8 a knight is pledged to his lord and declares his intenion to become a knight. From 8 to 13 he is trained to pilot and maintain an armburst. A squire is trained from the age of 13 to pilot his Armburst in combat and will not pilot one till he can defeat his master (knight). Knights are cybernetic linked to there Armburst suspended in a liquid filled chamber similar to the womb. Knights age slower then humans given acess to anti aging drugs all knights of the old round table have at least a hundred years of combat experience. Leithans massive air land and sea base ships used to move armburst from battle to battle large mostly unarmed cargo carriers.. Captained by men at arms and able to transport and repiar armbursts.
Global warming reaches its peak in 2250 melting the ice caps shifting currents and creating a dessert world. Ash prevents rainfall from falling on most of the world with the acceptation of the poles. World deserts spread over most of the world the ice sheets have receded opening new lands to colonization. Wild tribes live in the new world without advanced technology they scavenge the seas and deserts for the legacy of the old world. The old world live in fortified cities known as citadels and military fortifications known as castles. The old world is dying every year the deserts become drier unable to support life. Using there Armbursts they raid the barbarians for women food and most important of all water. Most people outside of the clergy and the knight hood are poorly educated including the noble lords. Daily life is a grind many die before reaching early adult hood while population soars among barbarian tribes.
