Authors: What is the average percantage of readers who rate your stories?

Can you believe that I've only just now noticed the typo in the title of the original post? Why does that always happen in the only part of the thread I can't edit?

Ok, I just did the spreadsheet - no more guessing

On about 8,000,000 views, I have close to 50K votes - .625

Nothing higher than 1.6, with a bunch in the 1.1 to 1.3 range

My "Perfect Game" series shows how haphazard the scores are
Perfect Game 1: (4.82) Almost 600K reads, .32 voting
Perfect Game 2: (4.71) 75K reads, 1.17 voting
Perfect Game 3: (4.86) 200K reads, .20 voting
Both 1 and 3 spent months in the first place in the category and have been on page 1 for years. #2 never broke the top 200. Go figure.

My one poem, an attempt at levity, did miserable
- 8 votes, 3033 reads, for a grand total of .263

It's good to hear I'm not the only whose poetry is ignored.

I don't need a spreadsheet to know the numbers are very small. It's the nature of any story forum and being concerned about it is a waste of time.

you don't have to be "concerned" about them to want to compute them. if you did, alot more analysts would be out of work. sometimes number crunching is fun, especially for comparision sake, and if you wanted it to be so, you could use it to help motivate you to possibly be a better writer, when you compare "views" "scores" "votes" and etc.
If it is a waste of your time, then fine, don't do it. You sound resigned to the fact, so move on to another thread where "your time won't be wasted".

My most read story has a little over 5000 views, and most are in the 1500-2000 views range. The number of votes fluctuates wildly from week to week, although few stories manage to keep over 10 votes for long (last week eight of my stories had managed 10+ votes, but today only two of them still have that many).

So the overall proportion is usually somewhere between 0.5 and 1%, but it really does depend when you choose to look at the stats.

I consider the views on my audios to be pretty good. But the most votes of any story I've received has been 238 and that's with over 61K views.
