Authors: Do you get aroused while you are writing?

I love writing erotica but sometimes I get so turned on by what I'm writing that I have to stop and masturbate.
Do I need to be more detached?

Look at it this way: if what you are writing is turning you on, then it is bound to do the same for your readers!

Yes, when I'm initially writing out a story, I do need to take quite a few "breaks". However, usually by the 15th read-through, the libido has calmed down a little bit! ;)

For me, it depends on the story. Mostly, I get turned on writing something that is going well, which I'm not having to struggle with or put huge amounts of effort into. If I'm straining my brain to come up with the exact right word or sentence structure, it's hard to concentrate on the story itself. My last story was that way....I was so far into the "English" and historical aspects of the story that I didn't even think about the plot or actions themselves. THAT took a lot of editing. :D

But with the stories that just sort of "flow out" on their own.....Yeah, I do get turned on writing them. If it doesn't do anything for me, it probably won't interest anyone else, huh? ;)

Of course!

It's the reason we all started writing stories like these in the first place... we're just all happy that we have a place where we can share them and know that others enjoy them as well!

Yes, I do... When something in bumping my keyboard tray so often it becomes difficult to write, I have to stop and get rid of the offender.

Oh lordy......yes.
Unless i am having a hard time putting
what i want down in words....then
usually it doesnt take me long
to get right there.....lol.

I always wonder whether its jus me or
whether others will like it or not......
but i figure .....if its getting my blood
going.....it has to be doing the same
for someone else. Sure enough i have
gotten quite a few "Kudos".....and that
makes me feel super. Makes me just want
to write more and more.....but .....yeah .....
every writer has to take a breather and a break.

Fortunately writers of our "Caliber"......
lolol.......whether we break or keep going
it all feels awesome doesnt it???
Ya gotta love it!!!!!

Hmmmmm......gotta go .....that surge is comin
again and i got a few more ideas to jot down....
before i take my break......hehehehehe.

As always......

Aroused Author, OH YEAH

Oh yes! Of course I do, at least at the beginning when the core idea for the story is still vivid in my mind. Sometimes I get over it as the story unfolds, sometimes not. Then as Chelle says, countless rereads, edits, etc. finally take their toll and the entire project becomes work (sometimes). I am the only one who has ever read those stories, tho! And, unless someone knows how to get into my hard drive and bring out stuff that isn't supposed to be there, no one ever will, not even me. Read those stories, that is.:D :D

thats the best thing about writing erotic stories. whenever i write i have to stop in order to let my hard-on go down..lol thats crazy

I think it's a good sign when you have problems typing. I means that you have other things on your mind, or whatever. the nice thing about writing is that I can become my protaganist or be a voyeur and just enjoy the scene. Either way, a good story is a good story and if you have to stop occassionally, it's even better. If I have to stop, I like to walk away from it for a while. Then when I come back to it, it starts all over. A good long story can take a very long time to finish, lol.

Absolutely, I can only write...

...about that which I find arousing. If it doesn't turn me on, why would it turn you on? I don't write fantasy, all I've ever written is based on real life experience, embellished a bit maybe, but never the less a part of my history.

Thanx everyone, for your contribution to my question.
I remember the time, in the dark days before computers and word processors, I used to write my erotic tales in longhand. While proof-reading my work several days later it was possible to tell when I was 'cooking'. The hand writing became erratic and shaky at the hot bits and became more legible as the story cooled down. I could picture a handwriting expert examining my story...

Thank Heaven for word processors!!
