I have had several people send me a email( through Literotica) commenting about the story they read and how much it either aroused or they just enjoyed it.

However when I send them back a email saying I appreciated their feed back, their reply was shock that I replied to them and I had their real email address.

Since I am new to this how do you handle responding to emails?

I don't really want to start a dialog with them beyond the story , but I do want feed back.

Hasn't happened to me. Guess the answer to them is that the system gave you their e-mail address along with the comment they initiated. Not really your problem.

That's odd they would be surprised about the e-mail address because when you send a private feedback you have an option to include an e-mail address or send as anonymous.

So my assumption when I see they included an e-mail address is that they are hoping they would get a response.

I have gotten a lot of surprised people as well, but surprised I responded. According to many they usually do not hear back from the author.

Now if its an old story...who knows, the author may not be checking anymore, they may have moved on from the site, but if it recent then that's too bad, especially when many authors ask for feedback.

I try to respond to all of them, but I ave to do it right away or I forget which means I am sure i have missed some.

That's why after awhile...usually a couple of years...I turn off feed back on stories. Voting too.

But for them to be surprised...go figure.

It makes no sense for them to be surprised. Lit doesn't include emails with feedback unless the person submitting the feedback SPECIFICALLY checks a box that makes their email address visible. I sometimes do and sometimes don't, but if I do, it's because I want to leave the option of dialog open. I've had about 50-50% responses on feedback: some authors do it, and are happy to have received the comments, others don't respond. Some may, like LC68, get so many comments it may become overwhelming so I don't blame anyone for not responding.

I wouldn't worry about it - if you enjoy feedback, leave the option open - there's always the delete key if you don't like what you get.

Its not too bad because half the comments aren't worth responding to. I generally do not reply to "Fuck off and die, scumbag" nor do I respond to the readers who think I am female and say things like "I bet your pussy drips when you write this, do you fuck your son or is this fantasy?

So the number worth responding to is...not that many:rolleyes:

I usually respond with whatever strikes me at the moment. I have also had a few reply back surprised at my correspondence. I don't get paid. Their emails are my dollar signs. They made me happy, so they shouldn't be surprised when I attempt to return the favor.
