Australia Day 26 February

Which happens to be January not February !

Thanks. Title now edited.

That's what comes of posting before my first cup of coffee, and while writing a Valentine's Day entry.

It's still Australia Day today.

Happy Australia day - following on from Burn's night and yesterdays day of Welsh lovers (so much better than that St. Valentines massacre)

You're right. Thanks again.

I can change the title of my post, but not the thread.

Perhaps Australians can celebrate for a month?

the thread idea was definitely a nice thought.

and every day is a school day - (always learning people):)

I learn a lot from Literotica, particularly when threads get diverted into abstruse discussions.

I just wish Australia had a better anthem. I remember singing Advance Australia Fair when in Melbourne, but the Rugby songs were sung with more feeling.

so true of MANY an anthem... hmm here's a thought. should you be able to pick your nationality based on it's anthem? Us celts have some humdingers... and if we're picking nationality then I'll be Maori

(for the record I've not had enough sleep and I find EVERYthing funny when that happens)

tune :)eek:)

they do have the best weather. I remember Cairns. No-one, and I mean NO-ONE wore shoes of ANY description (apart from thongs)

When in Australia I used to walk around with bare feet all summer, and cycle to and from the beach barefoot.

Is there a particular significance to January 26th, down under? I could look it up, but I'm being lazy.

The best thing about Australia is it keeps most Australians on the opposite side of the planet from Canada.

The geels are nice though; good of them to send some of the young pretty ones on walkabouts.

you have the right to be offended! but not the right to impose.

At least they have an assemblance of normality now
