Thirty years ago, today, Saddam Hussein, previously one of America's allies and proxies in the region, acting on assurances from our Ambassador in Baghdad, sent his army to invade Kuwait.

What might the Middle East have been like if we had only told him no? Or not propped him up and encouraged his previous invasion of Iran?

you mean what if we had stood for the principle of self determinination and nonagression and had opposed the neo-con's colonialisim? What if we, the people had tossed the AEI neo-cons like rummy and kristoi out of the national conversation because they were un-American ass holes?

The world would be, perhaps better and many more innocent lives would have been saved. BUT, NO America, the Congress and the LSM did nothing to stop them and we ended up here. Too bad, so sad, that the LSM promoted the Trumoster to sell papers instead of acknolaging the truth that he was a losing snakeoil salesman and not a reasonable human.

People forget that we basically backed Saddam as an ally against the Ayatollahs in Iran, supposedly the lesser evil. Even helped him wage a war of aggression against Iran. And overlooked his use of chemical weapons against the Kurds and Iranians.
