I was wondering if listening to the audio stories on an iPad/phone leaves a file on the device you may not want to store, if the device is shared with family.

If you download the file, yes. If you're streaming online (aka playing the file here on Literotica) it will show in your history unless you clear it. I recommend using Incognito/Private mode & clearing your browsing history frequently.
