What you got out there that is a good listen? I've got some credits I need to make use of.
I'm not really into fiction so much. I dig military history, nonfiction, true crime, american/world/ancient history.
The trick is finding books like that that aren't read by the economics teacher from Ferris Beuller's Day Off.
So lay it on me.

Also, I'm not opposed to fiction, it's just not my go to. If it's good and worth a listen I will give it a whirl.

Ever tried Joseph Wambaugh? Old stuff, but The Choirboys was pretty good. He has a few others too.

I'll check it out and see if it blows my skirt up.

Figuratively speaking, of course.

Thanks for the tip!

Keep in mind, he's former LAPD and these are 'inside' stories of cops and their misdeeds. But he does it with flair and there is an interesting mix of comedy and drama.

If you want more reality based but disgusting, try his book, 'The Onion Field', which is based on a true story.

They were both popular movies too.

I liked Carlos Santana’s autobiography, The Universal Tone, on audio book. Nice companion for a long road trip

Maybe an is ball. Try Stephen Fry's Myths, Heroes and Troy.

It's his version of the real myths of ancient Greece. It's a good retelling and taught me many new variants of the standard sword and sandal affairs.

All great suggestions. Thanks fellers!

IFB, I just listened to the intro sample for The Devil In The White City... This is about H.H. Holmes?? This is going to be good...

Hides, I'm going to check out that Fry business right now. Ancient Greece is in my wheelhouse.

Appreciate all the suggestions.
If anyone else has books they'd recommend go ahead and share them here regardless of genre.
