Walking down a trail in the forrest near their village. Tasha was lost in thought trying to remember her parent's.

Her brother's Tom, and Vence didnt talk about them much, after their parent's had died leaving them to run the tavern, and raise their 2yr old baby sister, they just seemed to busy to talk about them.

She stood about 5ft 4in and weighed, around 120lbs. She had long flaming red hair braided down to her waist. Her eyes a sea green with golden flex around them.

Tho she was a small woman her figure was curvy in all the right places. Her breasts a little lager then most of the village girls her age. Unlike most of the women in the village. Tasha prefured men's Legging's to her pesant skirt's, and dress's.

Today she was dressed in a white pesent blouse, Green tunic, and legging's with brown thigh boot's. Belted at her waist she carried a shortsword.

Normaly she would carrie a bow, and arrow's with her incase she came across any game to hunt while she was out, but hadnt planned on hunting today.

Tom the eldest mainly seemed concerned with the tavern. While Vence, learned all he could about sword's ,and wepon's of all sort's. Off, and on just to tease Tom Vence would teach Tasha a few moves, which she soon became as adept at fighting as Vence.

Tasha he would say Sence we can never keep you out of the forrest, you may as well learn how to hunt, and defend yourself. Which of corse this ushually amounted to an argument between Tom and Vence....

Tasha laughed thinking that nether Vence nor Tom cared for her choice in clothing, but both agreed that it was more practiacal for her sence she wouldnt stay out of the woods.

Giving up on trying to remember what her parents looked like. She noticed that the sun was starting to set, and headed back twords the village at a run.

Tom was going to be mad a her for taking off again, and because she was so worried about being back she didnt hear the sound's of the Slaver's that had gathered around her until it was to late, and she was caught.

The slaver's were cat like people, not human but not cat ether. A sort of cross between the two. Their village had not had any problems, and had even gotten along with the cat people. Until a group of outsiders had attacked them destroying almost all of their people.

Sence then the cat people have been waring on most everyone taking only who and what they wanted. They were a proud people, and with most of their women and children killed they were forced to mate outside of their race and mix bloodlines to servive.

They had her in chain's, and she new it was useless to try and reason with them. As they neard the village she could see that it was in flames and people were fleeing for their lives. Men were fighting to try and give the women and children a chance to escape.

When they neared the tavern She saw Tom laying on the ground. Vence was still fighting and watched as he was cutdown infront of her eyes. Tasha tryed to run to Tom to see if he still lived at least.. and was knocked to the ground... when she hit the world swam black......

Amrufel walked down the dirt road through the woods. There was supposed to be a town at the edge of the forest, and he needed to stop and purchase more supplies. Money wasn't an issue. The oddjobs he had done in the last town gave him a purse of gold that he hadn't even spent half of yet.

To the casual observer, Amrufel appeared to be a normal elf aside from his full head of blue hair which he wore in a long braided ponytail. He moved with the same otherwordly grace as the elven people and he had the same tall, slender build. But upon closer inspection, one would notice some things different about him.

First of all, there were his eyes. They were a bright orange color. The pupils weren't perfect circles either. They seemed to taper at the top and bottom in an unusual way, as if they were trying to transform themselves into the eyes of a cat or a snake.

There was also the matter of his hands. Despite the warmth out that evening, he wore black gloves. His fingers were also unusually long.

These vague hints only scratched the surface of Amrufel's true nature, but anyone who knew him well (of whom were few and far between these days) would know that they had absolutely nothing to fear from him.

A breeze came down the road and Amrufel froze in his tracks. Smoke... blood... The scent of destruction was on the wind and it was still fresh. He took off into a dead run, winding across the trail with preternatural grace until he emerged from the forest and his jaw dropped at the sight before him.

Hrothgar mad his way through the woods at a run. He'd been running now for close to 10 minutes, trying to get away from those Goblins that had killed his comrades, and nearly got him.

He panted, breath comming in ragged ghasps and stumbled, rolling down a hill, having tripped over an exposed tree root, cursing all the way.

He came to an abrupt halt with a thud as he hit a tree. Luckilly, he did not his it horizontally, and thus his back hadn't been broken. Grumbling to himself, Hrothgar climbed to his feet and rubbed the back of his head. Spots breifly appeared in his vision before vanishing.

Staggering to one side, he looked up.

Flames

Lots of flames! He was looking at a village burning. And, being close to the edge of the forest, he could tell it was no accident. It was getting raided by some sort of furred humanoids.

Staying put, he observed. After all, whay should he interfere and risk getting on the wrong side? Then he saw a reason. One of the humanoids had just struck a human on the head with a blunt instrument. This pissed Hrothgar off no end. Sure, inter-species war happened, but when it happened with Humans, it demanded retribution! His hand went down to his belt and, relieved to find his sword still there, he drew it out, and prepared for his moment to strike

Yewka the pixie was flying overhead minding her own business when she noticed the attack below. Strange catlike men were rounding up the people of the village, mostly women and young girls were captured while the men slaughtered brutally. Although Pixies were known for neutrality Yewka could not idly flutter by with all this devastation below her.

She witnessed a red haired woman struck by slaver and fall to the ground. In a flash of green light she appeared in her more human like form of 5 feet. Her wings safely hidden for they would be damaged in battle. Grabbing a stone and placing in a sling she whirled her make shift weapon above her head.
“Hey kittys!” She bellowed to get their attention. “Over here…”
The strange creatures took notice of the spunky pixie and moved toward her. She was easily outnumbered, but as always Yewka acted with out thinking. She used her sling as a club smacking one of her attackers square in the jaw another on the shoulder.

She moved infront of the chained woman mentally promising herself not to end up in such a position. They moved around her ready to pounce like true felines. Yewka recalled seeing two others in her flight and called out for help. “ Over here! Anyone ! We’re being attacked!”

Hrothgar blinked. A young, and quite scantily clad girl had just appeared out of nowhere and started attacking the cat people. Unfortunatly, she was severely outnumbered and in need of help. That, and she just cried out.

Ah, to hell with it! If he hung around here any longer, he'd probably get spotted and killed anyway. Charging out from his hiding spot, his sword drawn, he let out a cry, swinging his blade at one with it's back to him.

The creature didn't even notice until it was too late. It fell screaming as one of the other slavers turned on Hrothgar with a trident. Blocking the blow, he punched the cat-person in the face.

"I sure hope there arn't any other humanoids that are gonna appear out of nowhere!"

Amrufel saw the two others emerge and try to fight off the cat people. He knew he had to do something. It would mean exposing his secret, but he had to help. He slipped off his glvoes and tucked them in his belt revealing his clawed hands with unusually long fingers and blue scales on the backs.

"Get down!" he shouted to the two interlopers in Common tongue and focused his energy.

"Athos mi'a kiisah!" Amrufel arced his arms up an under in two wide semi-circles. When the incantation finished, he brought his hands together at the wrists, one over the other with palms facing the attackers and a freezing blast of wind erupted from the point in front of him. The force was enough to knock the cat people off their feet and extinguish the nearest fires, though the buildings would catch again soon if the blazes weren't stopped.

Yewka breathed a sigh of relief as her efforts were joined by others. These cat people were ruthless and tore at her already short silk skirt.

“Get down” shouted the second fighter.

Yewka wasn’t about to argue with a creature of such impressive stature. She immediately fell to her knees and covered her strawberry blonde head. Her backside complete with green silk skirt stuck almost comically in the air. She shut her eyes but could feel the blast that followed the warning.

Seconds later she opened her eyes gazing around at the wreckage. “Is it safe to get up?” She asked. Looking around once more she slowly got to her feet before waiting for an answer. The cat people lay stund around them. Some had gotten away with their catches others fearfully slunk away giving up their fight.

Yewka gazed down at her dusty and now tattered green silk dress. Battle was never kind to the small flimsy garbs of the pixies. She brushed her self off gazing awkward at the two men who had joined her fight. Pixies had no shame in their bodies where as other species wore as much as possible to hide their flesh. She blushed slightly fearing her appearance my offend her latest companions.

“ They’ll probably come back.” She said gesturing to the cat people who had slowly disappeared into the forest. “ And they’ll probably be pretty ticked with us.”

She mentally sized up the two men. The human was a professional fighter she thought, or at least he had the look of one. The other was defiantly part elf if not of full elvin blood. She couldn’t help but think of how attractive both were especially with the glow still in their eyes after the brief fighting.
She scolded herself for gawking at them like a silly fairy…but still she couldn’t keep such thoughts from filling the back of her mind.

The mage's power was impressive. Able to command the very winds themselves! After the shouted command, Hrothgar had thown himself flat on the ground as the slavers were litterally blow away.

As he stood, the danger seemingly passed, Hrothgar sheathed his sword and allowed himself to fully take in his surroundings, and the appearances of those he had breifly faught beside. The mage, still a short distance off, seemed to be an Elf. Hrothgar didn't like elves much. Far too haughty, and tended to talk down to people like himself

The girl was another matter. She was petite and very cute. Of course, the sense of innocence, and her rather minimal clothing, only served to enhance her attractiveness. And she had a certain smell to her. Something like fruit, but he couldn't pin it down.

Blinking a couple of times, Hrothgar chased the various thaughts about the girl from his mind. This was a battlefield. And, dispite their recent victory, they were not safe

The girl spoke up. “ They’ll probably come back. And they’ll probably be pretty ticked with us.”

"Agreed. First thing we should do is gather the wounded, like our unconcious lady friend here, and get them someplace safe"

Hrothgar bent and picked up a dropped trident. Never know when a weapon will come in handy! Securing it via a leather strap to himself, he picked up Tasha

Amrufel walked up to inspect the battlefield. Dead humans everywhere, more wounded. Several prisoners. The cat people had scattered at the display of his magic, but that trick wouldn't hold them off for long. They'd be back.

He turned to the two others who had intervened. A human soldier who right away didn't seem to trust him. And a short young girl... Wait a second... One of the fair folk. She was a pixie. Fooling the sense of an elf was much more difficult than those of a human, especially in matters of magic.

Amrufel pulled out his gloves and slipped them on again, hoping they wouldn't notice his unusual hands. He made a quick survey for other wounded, but it was clear that no matter what care he gave them with his magic, they would not live to see the morning. The cat people had run off with all the healthy prisoners.

Amrufel felt tears sting his eyes. Such destruction, such violence. Why did all the races insist on fighting so? Without a word, the half-elf set to work quietly trying to give the dying a few moments of relief before their deaths, try and give them some dignity.

Using his magic, it took only a few minutes until he rose up again. "It's time for us to go," he said sadly. "There's nothing more we can do here."

Hrothgar glared at Amrufel. "I think, mr Elf, that right here is as good a place as any to defend. We've got the stone walls of the houses to protect us. With most of the roofs burned off, there is little to catch fire."

He found it difficult to keep the scorn out of his voice.

"And where else would we go, hmmm? The forest? HA! That'll burn just as easy as the thatch of these homes. The mountains to the east? Overrun with Goblins. You'll die if you go there. So come on, tell us. Where should we go?"

Amrufel frowned but stood his ground against Hrothgar. "There are several good reasons to leave. First of all, the road carries on. There should be another town a day's journey from here on foot. Two days at the most.

"Second, the forest will not burn as easily as you imagine. Forest fires start because of dry spells. The trees and brush are healthy here.

"Third, the catfolk will not burn this forest as it as their own home. They would as soon burn this forest as you would your own village.

"Fourth, look around you. What is their to defend? A ruined husk? The only survivor who is not taken beyond our reach or has a chance of seeing dawn is in your arms now.

"Fifth, do you think the three of us stand a chance against an entire tribe of catfolk whose minds will be focused entirely on exterminating us?"

Amrufel narrowed his eyes. "There's nothing left here to do. That girl still lives. Let's get her out of here."

With that, he turned and started toward the road. "And for future reference, my name is not Elf. It's Amrufel."

Tasha lay somewhere between awake and sleep... her head pounding and not quite able to open her eye's. The last thing she rememberd was trying to get to her brother to see if he still lived.

Feeling someone's arms around her and hearing voices. Tasha gatherd her strenght and tryed to open her eyes.... Seing three blurry figures, and the runed village...

She mon'd and begain to struggle. Only suceeding in casing her head to pound further. Ignoring her pain she contiued to try and focus... she wanted to ether fight the cat men and escape or die trying...

slowing her struggles Tasha reolized that the cat people were gone.. and before passing back out very quietly said.. Thank the god's and goddess's Who??

Yewka stood off to the side while the men argued. Cat people, and goblins she thought. What ever next. She watched Amrufel walk towards the road and took a few steps in his direction.
“ Good sirs please don’t argue. I’ve just dealt with the cat people I too tired to break up another fight today.” She turned and smiled at Hrothgar. “ Surly one night in the forest wouldn’t harm us.”

She noticed the wounded red haired Tasha struggle before blacking out again. “ She needs to rest soon.” Yewka looked up and the darkening sky. “ ..and If I may be so selfish I too need to sleep soon. It is almost night can we go some where to sleep. Then in the morning we can sort out what is to be done.”

Yewka made a few more steps towards the forest. All the Pixie wanted was a nice mossy bed to sleep in and to finally get out of her torn silk dress.

Hrotgar grumbled to himself. Bloody Elves always ordering others around... Unfortunatly, this once, he had to concede that Amrufel was correct. They needed to get out of the village. And his own stare of wearyness came back to him, mostly through the lady stuggling in his arms, he had to concede the second point that they needed rest.

Looking down at the girl, he was struck by her beuty, now that he allowed himself to be. She was a good head smaller than him, with a shapl body and nice, firm looking breasts. She had a very cute face, made all the more beutiful by her flowing red hair. She had mumbled something just after she stopped struggling

"Sssh now. Just relax. You're safe. Let yourself regain your strength"

Reluctantly, Hrothgar, carrying Tasha, followed the other two off into the woods

As they made their way down the road through the woods, Amrufel felt the tension of the situation melting. He hated violence. It reminded him too much of his... his father...

"I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage," Amrufel said softly, looking back at the two following him. "You know my name, but I don't know either of yours. All I see are two humans and a pixie, and I can't call you by that through the whole journey."

Yewka skipped ahead of the group. She jogged behind a large oak tree and recovered a pack she had been hidding there.
" I'm Yewka." She called back to Amrufel . " But you can call me Pixie I don't mind." She led the group away from the road deeper into the woodlands.
Pointing to a cozy mossy patch she called back again" This looks like a nice place for tonight."
She paused for a moment digging though her pack, then uncovering small loaves of bread and a canteen. " Any one hungry? And for our lady friend.." She shook the canteen of liquid and placed the food and drink on a large tree stump that would make a nice make shift table to the four of them.

" What do you think? Is this a good spot for tonight? If so I'll set about building our beddings for tonight." She was already scouting around for soft materials before any one could respond.

Hrothgar gently laid Tasha down on the soft ground. Putting his weapons down, he removed his leather jirkin, then his linen shirt, revealing a well muscled and lightly scarred body. Rolling up his shirt, he placed it under Tasha's head as a makeshift pillow.

"This is as good a place to stop as any. And my given name is Hrothgar of Ravenshore"

He took a loaf of bread and sat against a tree, and started to eat

Amrufel folded up his cloak into a small square and set it on the ground. He made a ring of stones on a patch of dirt and gathered up the dryest twigs and branches he could find. "Flam sidal," he softly muttered, his orange eyes glowing of their own light as the tinder burst into flames seemingly on its own, quickly igniting the kindling as well.

"Obfu descra'ne." With the second incantation, the smoke vanished along with the smell. The fire seemed unreal without the two elements of smoke, but the light and warth it cast were real. "This way we won't attract attention."

Amrufel sat cross-legged on his cloak and watched the three with him a moment. He addressed Hrothgar and Yewka, "Since we are bound by a mutual enemy and goal, there is something about me you should know now. Whether or not you wish to keep me around is your decision."

He hated having to do this. But hiding his secret in this situation wouldn't be wise. There was no other way he could continue to convince them of his power despite his youth. In human years, he was barely more than 20. With a sigh, Amrufel removed his gloves, revealing his unusual hands. He then took off his shirt, revealing the blue scales that ran seemlessly beside pale skin. He then unfurled his batlike wings slightly and let the fins on his forearms stretch up. Though he had the slender frame typical of elves, it was easy to see the preternatural strength his lightly-defined muscles held.

He sat there half-naked, his secret exposed. All he could do was calmly watch and wait for their reactions.

Yewka set about making a soft mossy mattress for the four of them to sleep upon. Her creation was strange looking but comfortable and warm. SHe smirked very proud of her self then went to sit by the strange fire Amrufel made.

He addressed them "Since we are bound by a mutual enemy and goal, there is something about me you should know now. Whether or not you wish to keep me around is your decision."

She was curious as to what he ment ..then she saw him reveil his true form. SHe was taken back but not frightend. Yewka gave him a good look over. I'm one lucky Pixie she thought to her self. Two half naked men...very VERY nice she thought.

She watched Amrufel wait calmy for a reaction, at least he was pretending to be calm. She didn't believe it for a second he was worried concerned, perhaps even afraid of rejection.

Yewka smileed at him sweetly, after all she was used to this sort of thing. In the past year she had wound up in relationships with numerous Drows and shapeshifters even a goblin once....but she didn't like to talk about that one.

"Impressive wing span." She said trying to break the tension that was building up among them. She would have taken this opertunity to unveil her own pixie wings, but she knew they would glow bring green giving away her intrest in the two men. The Human wouldn't know that the wing colouration ment but Amrufel would.

Hrothgar was taken by suprise. A suprise that showed through his neutral facade for a send, before he regained his impassive look. However, his hand remained close to his blade. He had heard stories of deamonkind and, athough he had never seen one face to face, he was sure that Amrufel was roughly what one would look like.

He had also heard stories that weapons of wood and steel could not harm them, and that only magic could. Taking a deep breath, he managed to move his hand away from his blade.

"So. You're not an Elf. But as to what you truly are, I can but guess. And I don't like where my mind goes"

Hrothgar glanced to the side, checking on the sleeping Tashsa, before returning his gaze to his two 'companions'

" Well obviously he isn't full Elf." Yewka said from her spot by the fire."Don't be so worried Hrothgar. I'm sure if Amrufel ment any of us harm he would have done something before now."
She yawned loudly. "Oh my.." She yawned again. " I'm afraid good sirs it is well past this pixies bed time."
SHe rummaged though her pack and dug out a large black cloak to use as a blanket. She wrapped it around her body, then trying not to draw attention to herself removed her dress while keeping the cloak tight around her. She went over to the fire to say her good nights."Good night to the both of you. I'm sure you have lots to talk about. When you're ready for sleep wake me up and I'll watch the camp till morning....Oh and Amrufel blue is a good colour for you. Any way night night All."

She curled up on the mossy bedding she had made and closed her eyes.

Hrothgar grunted. He wasn't going to sleep. Not while Amrufel was awake anyway. Hrothgar let his gaze wander over the sleeping form of Yewka. He had to admit, she looked even more desireable now, tucked up next to a fire, than when they first met

He returned his gaze to Amrufel. He was naturally a suspicious man. Some would say even a little paranoid, but suspicion always kept people alive. After all, how many suspicious people let their guard down around those they suspected? Very few.

He could count the amount of thing that he didn't like about Amrufel.

1- He was an Elf. Naturally haughty, always thinking they're above everyone else and running their own agendas
2- He was a mage. Magic always scared Hrothgar. It wasn't natural, and he had heard strange and disturbing things about how it worked
3- He was half... something. Possably demonic, which would add credence to the stories he had heard
4- He didn't like the look in his eye. Now, chances are that *is* just paranoia, but he wasn't going to dismiss it just yet

Amrufel wondered absently why Yewka wouldn't display her wings. Pixies never had been known to show any body issues. At least she accepted him. That made him feel a little more at-ease. She might even figure out his heritage if he didn't tell her.

Hrothgar on the other hand was a typical soldier. If it didn't look like your friends, be suspicious of it.

Amrufel sat up straight with his legs crossed and placed his palms on his knees. "Elves only require two to four hours of sleep a night," he said to Hrothgar flatly. "If you intend on trying to stay awake to keep an eye on me, you'll be in horrible shape to get to town tomorrow.

"I suggest you listen to Yewka. If I had wanted to harm any of you, I would have done it already."

With that, Amrufel closed his eyes and began the lucid dreaming that all elves practiced to keep their minds sharp and their attunement with magic and the natural world keen.

A short time after falling asleep Yewka stirred. Pixies were generally light sleepers and would nap during the day so they could enjoy the night time.

She sat up on her mossy mattress and smiled sheepishly at Hrothgar. "I couldn't sleep." She said and got to her feet. She held the edge of her long cloak to her breasts to hide herself from Hrothgar. Turning around so her back was to him she streched her arms up letting the cloak drop for a moment. The Pixies body resembled that of a marble statue. Everything about her was small and rounded as if sculpted by an artist. She streched her arms high then from her mid back two beautiful shimmering dragonfly wings appeared as if from no where. They glowed bright emerald green with hints of orange and yellow though out.
Yewka quickly bent and collected the cloak covering herself once more, while allowing her back to be bare and her two majestic wings exposed.

She approached Hrothgar and sat at his side. She gazed over at the still figure of Amrufel ." I wonder what he's dreaming about?"

She turned back to Hrothgar smilling again. " Why don't you like him? I assure you there is nothing to frear from him. Look at your self you look worn out. You need to sleep Hrothgar you can't go on all night like this." She gestured towards the mossy mattress.
" If you're concerned about Amrufel I'll stay awake to watch him, just please take care of your self. You'll be in worse shape then our lady friend if you don't."

She grabbed his blade and struck a warrior pose, blade held high and the other hand trying to keep the cloak from slipping away. " See I can deffend you." She giggled then returned his blade. " Seriously what do I have to do to get you to sleep?"

The fire had died down slightly, and in the dim light Yewka had woken. "I couldn't sleep." Hrothgar smiled a little at this. As a soldier, he *had* to sleep wherever he could. However, his smile turned to a look of astonishment as two shimmering wings grew out of the young girl's back right before his eyes! Normally such a thing would worry, even scare him, but looking at the young girl, the wings just seemed to fit her slender frame.

She had gotten up and moved over to him, still trying to keep herself covered, and asking verious questions. After she had struck a herioc pose, which made him grin, and she had settled back down again, Hrothgar thaught over the questions.

"Who knows what goes through the mind of an Elf. Even a half-breed Elf. It's one of the things that makes them both mysterious, and terrorfying" He sighed, seeling his wearieness catching up to him. "Why don't I like him? because I don't know him. I was fairly sure what he was, but even that proved wrong." He managed a chuckle. "That, and being suspicious has kept me alive so far"

He yawned. He really was tired! All of that running, then the skirmish, then carrying the girl had worn him out more than he had realised. Looking around he grabbed the trident and picked it up. Smiling, he handed it to Yewka. "Here. If anything comes near with the intention of doing any of us harm, use this. Not as much finesse as a sword, but you'll stick 'em before they get you! Plus, not so many bits to accidently cut yourself with." He smiled at Yewka. "Y'know, there's just something about your face that makes me want to trust you. Could be that air..of...innocence....." Sleep finally overtook him, and Hrothgar fell into a slumber
