Attention Anime Buffs!

Okay, I will get right to the point with this one. I am wrighting a review for Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and I am trying to make a referance to the origional Vampire Hunter D, however I cannot find the year the origional was brought to the US. If anyone knows this little bit of info I would be grateful.

I watched both movies though and thought they both kicked ass but bloodlust was better.
