This will be a try-out for a fantasy world I'm developing. If there is anything you want to know and I do not cover it here, please leave your questions here or PM me.
PM me also if you want to join this nutcase newbie RP! :)

Time set

Medieval epoch. Basic wardrobe, weaponry and such are the commonly known for the respective period, as well as social and economic conditions.More details below.

PC Factions

Black Rose Kingdom

Initially an alliance formed between several small kingdoms, the Black Rose banner now unites 12 greater kingdoms beneath it.
Founded as a "league" of mutual benefit, in its recent history the balance of power as been overthrown by one kingdom trough a series of political marriages and some dark plots to ensure obedience from the smaller monarchs and even some more powerful. At present time, the Black Rose League is seen as a single kingdom - the Rosan Kingdom - and officially ruled by a queen.

Human trade is common and few are those who do not own a slave, from the noble to the common peasant. War is the primary source for slavers and a constant factor in the main land; the normal couple will have from 5 to 8 children.
Between the high nobility a special kind of slavery is practiced: the Rosatan palace houses several hundreds of slaves, male and female, used to please their masters in every way, all blue-blooded. The queen and her house ensures present and future obedience of her nobility by their submission.

Athalantis

Athalanteans are a single race and nation, who has built a vast yet mostly wild kingdom when in compare with neighboring lands.
There is no assigned monarch, as the athalantian society keeps some tribal social structure; two Elders Councils provide guidance for a group of chosen leaders, designated by the people directly.

Although peaceful, Athalantians are fierce warriors, men and women alike, trained from birth, but keep normally neutral towards war between kingdoms. Athalantian society values wisdom, knowledge and peace above all, this leading to build a very advanced culture: scientific knowledge is extremely advanced in all fields.
Athalantians also enjoy a very large lifespan, which added to their seclusion habits as led to create an aura of mysticism around them; average lifespan is 500 years. Most couples will have 1 or 2 children.

Plot

This RP will depict the fall of the Rosan Kingdom and its queen.

The queen as been trying to submit Athalantis to her rule but with no success. A few people have been abduct by invading army's and taken to the Rosatan Palace; now Athalantis seeks vengeance. The Rosan Kingdom will burn: from inside out or the other way around does not matter.

Starting Characters

the Rosan Queen - open to a female, obviously
other nobles - at least another 1, for fun purposes, male or female
slaves - at least one female and another male and at least one athalantian
athalantian invasion force - at least two elements (for cloak and dagger RP) - I'll be playing one element of this force. Open for men and women alike.

NPC carathers may be added freely.

For sugestions, questions or joining the fun, PM me.

My character

Name: Piyoth Uthgaard

Height - 7.20
Weight - 310 pounds
Age - 125 years

An athalantian captain.
Piyoth was assigned the mission of retrieving the captured athalantians by the Rosan army's along with a small group of highly trained soldiers.

He is a fair and very kept to himself man. And, as any other officer or soldier in the Athalant army, fair: he will not ask for someone to do something he his not capable of.

Black eyes and hair, with tanned skin.

This looks like an interesting idea. I wouldn't mind picking up the part of one of the captured Athalanteans if I could. I do have a few questions though first...how are they being treated? Are they considered oddities since they're from a kingdom that has resisted the Rosen's so well? Are they treated badly by nobles from the smaller kingdoms under control of the Rosen government (perhaps nobles taking out their own frustrations at not really ruling their own kingdoms on those that won't yeild)? And how were you thinking the Athalanteans would react to this? Would they yeild initially in order to remain healthy until rescue came, or fight their captors tooth and nail?

I found this to be an intriguing prospect and even a possible challenge in creative writing.

I would like to request to participate as a Noble.

My initial thinking is that my character is one that has influence and power that is rivaled only by the Rosan Queen herself, which he is under the rule of. He is her confidant and Lord of the largest kingdom under the banner. He had advised, allied and assisted her path to power but for a different reason. He has designs of usurping her, now that her private forces have been weakened in obtaining control over the kingdoms. He is willing to use any means available to gain the throne.

None of this means that he is a man without scruples. He just sees things differently. One, he sees men as born to be leaders and women are subservient followers. He has his own vision of what Black Rose can come to be. The means justify the end if that is what it takes. He also believes he is the only one that is capable of achieving that, for the glory and prosperity of Black Rose...and...also for himself. He believes he will be a King that will leave his indelible mark for time eternal.

Definately a very interesting and intriguing plot line.

I would be interested in playing one of the Athalantians on the Invasion force. Preferrably a scout/rogue. Stealthy type.

Other than that interest, I'd be willing to play anything else if needed, as well.

caela

Athalantians, although human - they get sick, old and die if severely wounded - can withstand more physical and mental punishment than average men and women, due to their social conditioning.

Athalantian society has a semi-tribal setting, despite their highly advanced civilization. This means that from birth every individual is taught to survive at all cost; adding to this a very harsh military training from early years and throughout their entire life, the "average" athalantian is a very solid individual, mentally and physically.

Regarding the way the prisoners have been treated, I'm willing to take the risk of "free for all" for start. They are human, after all. Different but human.
Prisoners most probably would be rebellious and even dangerous to captors, if able.

Considering Athalantis seeks revenge, living prisoners may leverage for the Rosen's as trading coin if negotiations are made. Dead body's will probably spark a full-out war.

T_O_M

A subversive Noble inside the Rosan court was something I had thought about and this suggestion from you is very welcomed.

Do take note: if you decide that a temporary alliance with Athalantis could prove useful towards your character agenda, manage in such way - I can back you up multi-rolling other Athalantians, but take in consideration the Athalantian political system.

DeceptiveEdge

If that is the character you are considering, give me some elaboration on it.

For guide-lines, I can tell you that the Athalantis peninsula is mostly wild, as cities are concentrated in strategic positions throughout the land. Also, the people are very conscious of Nature's balance, meaning that you can find more wild animals and beasts roaming the realm than in anywhere else. Even at an arrow shot distance away from the city walls.

I hope this will not kill the project in advance but I'll be out of the air for the 3 next days as I'm going to be moving to my newly bought home.

Please start posting your characters bios and spread out the word for this coo coo clock idea of mine.

Have a nice weekend,

Q

Good luck with the move! It shouldn't kill the thread though it's too bad we won't be able to work on it this weekend. I'll work up a bio and get it posted sometime in the next few days since I have time.

Name: Nehailia

Age: 105

Affiliation: One of the captured Athalanteans, she was a warrior in her own right in her homeland and is an expert shot with a bow and absolutely wicked with a knife; now she's a slave to a Rosen noble.

Appearance: Young and graceful she falls on the short side for an Athalantean at only 5'7. Her dark, violet eyes seem to hide secrets in their depths, an image made all the more striking when dark, blue/black hair falls across pale flesh in rippling waves and she stares out through the curtain of it. Her full lips usually want to twitch up in a smile though since her capture she's learned to school her face to neutrality. Her body is strong and compact, with full, firm breasts, a taut stomach, wide hips and a sweetly curved ass.

Personality: Quick witted with a fiery temper and a strong will. She's typically a happy person, always willing to smile and jest with her countrymen though becoming more serious in her captivity. Used to being wild and free she's well aware of her inherent sensuality and the forms of pleasure among her own people though she had yet to choose an actual mate. (Note: That doesn't make her a virgin, just unmarried...when you could live to be 500 there's really no rush is there lol)

No, there really isn't. And 500 is just the average, so...

So I'm back. Up 'till now we have 2 characters.

I hope the Queen role will be soon filled in by a person I've invited. As soon as we have at least 2 persons on each side we can start things.

NOTE: please spread word and if you see that there are need for NPC's add them.

Caena, I must admit that Nehailia fills in the idea I had about the Athalantian women.
I assume you've created her with a somewhat ranger/countrywoman background? Taking in consideration the choice for bow/knife, I thought of that immediately. Hope we can see her breaking a few bones to her captors. At her age, she will be at least 45 years older than the average Rosan; and a fit body to go along. How about that for a wicked granny?

DeceptiveEdge, produce your character! A strike force takes at least two. And I would like to discuss with you the opening of the story.

Sorry sorry! Busy with work and getting ready for classes to begin again. PC info coming up.. now.

----

Name: Andolas Raal'wood
Age: 102
Hair: Blonde, cut short to the scalp (Buzzcut)
Eyes: Faded grey, almost luminescent in the dark but only if you're standing within 4 feet of him
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 287lbs or 130.5kg
Other Notes on Appearance: Andolas has fair skin, not pale but not tan by comparison to his Captain. He's also more slender than his weight gives him credit, granting him a quicker movement than his heavier, warrior-built brothers. His looks would be considered strikingly handsome if it weren't for a long, crescent scar that runs down from his right temple to about mid-right cheek.

Position/Rank: Second in command under the Captain.
Reason: Andolas was picked for his two greatest skills, stealth and archery. Other than that, he shows excellent ability with a knife and trapping, above-average ability with a long sword or less, and is adequate in hand-to-hand combat.

Personality: Andolas is the epitome of a jokester. With his ability to sneak in and out of many places and areas unseen or heard, he takes every opportunity to sneak into his brothers tents and hide things, take things, or just cause general mayhem. He sometimes succumbs to a very sarcastic tone, retorting to anything he deems as "dumb/stupid/pointless," but it's mostly light-hearted, meant to keep everyone from becoming tensed up when there is a serious mission being undertaken. Other than that, he's a very caring soldier, willing to lay down his life to save his brethren or to lead the charge when called upon by his Captain.

Granny? Granny?! :p

Lol...I figure that since the average Athalantean lives to be around 500 that 105 is only about a 1/5 of her life cycle which would make her the equivalent of about a 20 year old Rosen.

Still young and in her prime!

Granny indeed!

Well, if only T_O_M would wake up to smell the coffee we could be preparing the starters...

I'll write the opening for the Athalantian strike force this evening and post it tomorrow morning.
Piyoth will be meeting Andolas near the frontier of Athalantis were the last incursion of the Rosans occured and there they will look for someone to ask a few questions about the prisoners. And since Athalantians have already left the area who is left to question?

Note to Deceptivedge: second in command? Considering this is an elite strike force there is no commander. Captain is a designation but no commanding position. My belief is that athalantians fight side by side as brothers, not leaders and soldiers. And I do hope you don't try to get frisky by night with Pioths belongings.

And note to self: why am I getting the oldest character in the roll? Hummm... And I have to elaborate my bio.

Note to Caena: I've been wondering more about the aging process of the Athalantians. You're statement is true, as a 20 years old Rosan would be equivalent to a 105 Athalantian, biologically, but I wonder how would it be mentally?

Mentally of course the Athalantian would be far beyond a 20 year old Rosen. I don't see most Rosen's realizing it though. They'll look at Nehailia and just see a young woman who couldn't possibly know more than any other young woman. I'm thinking that most will constantly underestimate her.

I don't have the palest idea of what you just said... but what the hell.

I know I said yesterday I would be posting this morning the opening of the RPG - I'm sorry but I felt a little sick yesterday's evening so I wasn't able to write anything. :(

This sounds like fun...

I would love to develop a character for your rp..perhaps a noblewoman from one of the lesser united kingdoms. If interested, let me know and I will post a profile for her.

I am deeply sorry for my absence but I had a misfortune that as made impossible for me to show myself on the forum. :(

As I mentioned early, I have moved recently to a new apartment. Unfortunately, although used the house is new - with 26 years of age, the house as only had 1 year of occupation  - so we have been busy at fixing what was never broken but nevertheless worn out. And upgrading a lot details around.

One of those details is Internet, which I'm waiting to be hooked up. I'm writing these lines on my laptop to be able to post them at my work tomorrow (can you imagine the work it is to have to actually write manually the entire BB code?)

I'm very disappointed with myself but these things are completely out of my control. Please excuse my awful and disrespectful behavior. *kneels on the ground and bows in shame*
