I am 24 and I am starting to notice that I now do things that when I was 16 I said "I hate it when people do that!"

Like I just dont understand the baggy jeans thing, or rap, or slang or anything. It makes no sense to me. I have not watched MTV since I was 19. I watch VH1 now. Songs I listened to when I was 12 are now on Retro stations.

For me once I hit 78 I will be well on my way.

It varies from day to day.

The first time I had a trainee that wasn't alive when I joined the service, I felt old. (age 39)

When I turned 40, I felt old for a while.

When I got a notice that my 30 year class reuinion was coming, I felt old.

When they razed a local school building that was opened the year I was born because it was "old and outdated," I felt old.

On the other hand, I look at people and think, He's only ten years older than I am -- he's not old yet.

Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that "OLD" is fifteen to twenty years older than I am.

(BTW, I'm planning on getting to be older than the average high temperature in Las Vegas on my birthday and refuse to think of myself as "old" until I do. The average High on my birthday is 107F)
