I have finally written another poem!
Jeez, it was kind of scary to be so blocked.
Can't say if it is any good or not, I'm just glad the logjam has finally broken loose.

My mutt got into a garbage can of spoiled meat once. He was blocked for about a month, and then the dam burst.

We've never had much to say to each other Mutt, which is good cuz I usually only respond to assholes etc, except for a few good friends. Which means theres no malice here.

I read your poem...it was good... not great, but good. So if I vote a 4 (which I haven't voted at all...yet) or a 3, even, does that make me a dickless troll? 'Cuz this is why I've stopped voting/commenting/posting all together. You think it's a good thing if all you get is 10's? What are you learning?

I have no problem at all with people who don't like my poems. I actually trust a 4 more than a 5, because I know I have friends who love me and love my work and might be biased. I would love to hear why I get a lower vote, so I can learn. But since it had been so long since I posted something, I was tracking my votes like a newbie. (Yes, I'm vain.)
But when the votes are all 5, and then it plunges, I have to believe it has nothing to do with the quality of the poem, but with somebody I pissed off on a political thread.
If I didn't think the poem was good, I wouldn't have submitted it. I don't need stroking. But I know that I look at the top scores to see which poems and stories are worth checking out. It would be nice to stay in the top ten for more than an hour.

If it bothers you, then submit your writing through a nickname that you never post under. Even then, it is likely there will be one bombing or five bombing.

Voting scores on Lit have too many variables for the voting to be a realistic measure of the writing.
