.... a dog.

I'm feeling rather lonely in the last couple of days but today I got to play, hug, cuddle, pad with my best friends dog. It's great to see that there is a living creature that likes to lay down besides you and be hugged by you, even if you're not it's owner.

Dogs just rule !!!!!

I feel the same way for my cat. We're absolutley addicted to eachother. She has to be in the same room with me or she meows at the door. She sleeps on my back every night. If I'm out else where overnight I have trouble sleeping without her on me.

Pets are awesome.

Yep, I'm a huge cat lover, too. I have three and, more often than not, all three sleep on my bed at night. Poor doggy has to stay in his bed downstairs. Nightime is cat time. :)

My bunny fully delivers my daily minimum requirements of cuteness.

Abs had him pegged though, he is a furry little crap machine.

rg, I'm glad to hear the bunn is still about. My Petya makes me laugh every day (at his dopeyness usually, he really is not smart). I love when he tickles me with his whiskers, and his warm licks. Bunny kisses are so dear. (Crap machine, yep, but easy to sweep up and virtually no smell.)

I'm finding mine is fairly clever. I hardly ever have to discipline him.

And he always climbs on my bed at night to give my forehead a lick after I turn in.

I've become very smitten with the little nutbar.

My dog is dying.

Sorry, didn't mean to kill the thread - this is a cheerful thread. He's 14 years old, but still has the brain of a puppy. He was a rescue shelter dog and his previous owners were wankers. They bought a cute little puppy and he grew into a very bouncy and large puppy. So they had him castrated to calm him down, despite the fact that he was far too young for it to have any effect. My kingdom for five minutes alone in a room with them. He's still scared of feet and will run away if your feet move near him because they used to kick him. People like that need their teeth fed to them.

Sorry, got depressing again there - promise this is a cheery post. As a result of that operation, he hasn't got some of his hormones and his brain's still that of a puppy, even if his body's that of an old dog. Which means he prances all over the place. His back legs have arthritis, so he's developed something of a three-beat run (left front leg, right front leg, both back legs together in a hop, repeat) and he still ferociously challenges our Alsatian for the ownership of her rubber ball, even to the extent of takign it away from her and weeing on it.

The vet has given us medicine, but it won't help him and he refuses to take it. He's very fussy about his food and normally we insist that he eats what he's given so as not to spoil him, but now he gets anything he wants. Mashed weetabix in milk for breakfast and boiled fish with rice for dinner. This has led to the unfortunate side effect of uncontrollable flatulence as he stinks out the whole house.

Going home to visit him this weekend. Lucky to have had him and aim to enjoy his company for as long as he has left.

Awww Earl...your dog sounds like a real sweetie :)

I have a cat...well a cat has me really. He is wonderful when i need a good snuggle. though he has a very loud purr and likes to sleep right snuggled up into me, his head in the crook of my neck *L*

Earl, poor doggie. People who are mean to animals will get what's coming to them one day. My sweet doggie I found on the roadside is so grateful and lovable, much more so than my other dogs.

My SO used to get pissed because I would cook my dog better meals than what I cooked for us.;)

Hug for you and a hug for the dog.

I'm sorry. :(
