I submit al ot of comments leaving my email address so the author can follow up. I very seldom get a response. for my part I always respond to comments if the pr=erson leavesan email.

Don't authors want comments? If not why allow them?

What's perhaps even more perplexing is that some people who actively solicit feedback here in the Story Feedback forum don't respond when people take the time to reply.

Human beings. Odd creatures.

Heh. I just got some glowing feedback the other day. I tried to respond, but I guess the reader left a bum e-mail address for replies. A few mailer daemon delivery failures, and I'm going to give up. can't win them all. Too bad too - 'cause now I'm going to look like an ass!

I reply to all my emails.. but when i try to reply back on some i get "failed to deliver" because wrong emails have been typed in.
So if you want to definately receive a reply, MAKE SURE ITS THE RIGHT EMAIL!! :p

My doctor, my maid

You kindly responded to my story on eroticstories.com, Homer (thanks for that!) so this morning I made the effort to read one of yours - "My doctor, my maid". I think this is really nice - some original twists, such as the making babies agenda - and it's a good example of the fantasies all men have about powerful women. I have fantasies about women doctors and servant girls, but I don't recall seeing them both in the same story before - well done!

I for one, don't understand it. I would LOVE to get comments, but unfortunately, I have had only one e mail which I replied to.

I've had very few public comments and I don't know how to respond to those.

This author would love correspondence and what do I find in my e mail box? Well if it wasn't for make your penis longer ads, I wouldn't have any mail at all. You supose someone peeked?

Oh well.. such is life.

I guess one problem is, when one comments on an old story, the author may not see it. Who remembers that a 6 mo old story had 7 comments and now there are 8.

I try to go through systematically occasionally, but it is not easy.

Cheers

This iritates me, someone pleads for feedback on this forum then doesn't respond when he/she recieves it. Its happened to me before. I feel like I wasted my time taking a look and trying to give them encouragement, advise and my thoughts on their piece. I know I'm no genius or literary expert but even if the author disagrees with all my points that's okay but I don't like being ignored when I was trying to help.

Note though that the literotica feedback system is not always reliable. I know in at least one case that some feedback I sent did not reach the author. But I normaly assume that if an author doesn't reply then the author doesn't really care for feedback. So I avoid reading their work in the future. Better off sending feedback to writers you know will be happy to see someone took the time to send some coments to their story. For some writers a little feedback can make their day.

On the other hand many writers wont respond to a PC (Public Comment) but will respond if it is a feedback email. But I guess if the your PC or feedback is very brief like "Great story" without explaining why then many writers wont respond back because they feel it doesn't justify a response.

:) Personally, I try to always respond to feedback, either a PC or an email. If the feedback is anon., I can't, of course, but if the person leaves his or her name or email addy, I respond. Periodically, I peruse my story index looking for apparent changes in the number of PC and, if it looks like thee are some new ones, I look, and respond when appropriate.

If the story is an old one, I sometimes am late in answering, but I always answer.

I certainly like feedback. And I try to respond if possible. However, as others have said, I can't respond if they choose to remain anonymous, leave odd comments, or move the feedback replies to something else I don't necessarily want to go...

If authors want comments they should at least let you know they received your comments.
I leave a comment if I like the story or poem, some authors specify that they do NOT want comment, this is fair enough.
There are often small typographical errors in the stories which makes you take your mind off the erotic thoughts the author is presenting and these need to be fixed. I always leave my address, I hope they will at least tell me that they received my comments, after all we leave comments to help (well most of us do)!
