The man who vandalized Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame said he has no regrets, even though the act resulted in his arrest on felony vandalism charges.

James Otis, who said he is an heir to the Otis Elevator family and his great-grandfather invented Listerine, spoke to the media after his release on bail.

I thought the honor was reserved for those who were stand out actors, directors, producers in movies or television or who had otherwise distinguished themselves in the industry. All Trump ever did was to have a shitty "reality" show.

Basically, if you get someone to nominate you, pay 30 grand or so, agree to show up the day it is unveiled and promise that there will be a group so that it makes a photo op, you can get one. There is a committee that makes final decisions, but if you can say that you make contributions to charity, and your name is known for at least five years, then you have a good shot at getting a star.

But getting a star doesn't have the same rep that it had when they first started.
