For some reason, this reminds me of an interview with, I think, one of the producers of 'Commando.' Apparently, Schwarzenegger had the idea of a scene in which he cuts off a man's arm with a machete, then beats him to death with it.

The producers thought that was a little too violent for mid-80s theater-goers . . . .

Don't they all? After all, the primary reason for going into "public service" is to push people around.
