Hello and welcome everyone to Assassin's Pledge: War of Attrition.

I'm Kyero, and I'm brand new to this site. I came to know of this site via word of mouth from a friend who said it was cool, so I decided to stop by and check things out. This RP is something I've worked with before, but I'm playing it in an all new way here on this site because one fresh start deserves another.

Warning!! Info Dump Ahead!! Prepare yourself!!

This RP takes place in a fictional world on a continent called Cre' Est. The time period is late middle ages, and the single shot rifle is the pinnacle of weapons technology. Swords, axes, lances and other melee weapons still dominate the battlefield and honor rules the hearts of all who would call themselves warriors.

There are five nations (Cre' Est, Triveila, Veilbrand, Gweynura, Shaharan), each with its own way of life, traditions and cultures. The peace that had once prospered throughout the land for thousands of years has been torn out at the throat and slung across the landscape. The Assassins of Te'i Sai, the most feared and ruthless Assassins in the world, have secretly infiltrated the ruling powers of the five nations and have since turned the continent into a land of chaos.

Te'i Sai's Assassins are the strongest, fastest, and most feared in the world for a very good reason. From the time of the organizations conception thousands of years ago, the Assassin Grandmasters have been honing their teaching techniques to build and shape the most cunning, powerful and lethal warriors as possible. Basically imagine if all these Assassins are Bruce Lee, and where the Master Assassins and the Grandmasters are Bruce Lee on steroids. That's pretty much what you're up against.

The people of the continent live in fear and poverty, the guards and politicians are corrupt and merciless, and those who bow to Te'i Sai's will survive... but at a price.

All dignity and freedoms once enjoyed by countless thousands is now a struggle just for the right to walk the street during the day. Curfew is sundown, and anyone found outside at night is either going to be killed on sight, or arrested and subjected to the whims of the city guards. The story is the same no matter where you go: Chaos, misery and violence.

However, a small ray of hope has since started to shine. One of Te'i Sai's own, the legendary Red-Eyed Demon, has begun to fight against the organization which created him in an attempt to restore order and balance to the continent. The most feared of the Assassins in the organization, he bows to no man, fears no foe, and his red eyes mark the coming of death itself to anyone who is unfortunate enough to view them. There are very few who follow him, as doing so automatically marks you for death by the Assassins of Te'i Sai, but to those who believe in him and follow his example there is no greater joy than knowing that your life has meaning and that you are working towards a great goal for the benefit of all those around you.

This story focuses on the life and struggles of the Red-Eyed Demons only protege: a young woman named Taira. She joined the Assassins eight years ago when she was only sixteen, with hopes and dreams of her deeds bringing light and comfort to the people around her. As she grew and learned the truth of Te'i Sai's actions and history, she could no longer abide by their code or live by their ways. She fled the organization, with the Red-Eyed Demon sent to kill her. When he found her, he offered her the chance to fulfill her dreams by helping him fight against Te'i Sai. She eagerly accepted his offer and still fights to this day.

Now she is twenty four years old and a veteran Assassin in her own right. Her specialty is the dual wielding Dagger, and her combat style focuses on swift, precise movements to maim and filet her opponents. Her mentor has destroyed two of the five branches of the organization of Te'i Sai that exist and is now targeting the third while Taira continues her own struggles and walks her own path to helping him achieve his goals and bring hope to a world otherwise devoid of it.

Phew!!

Alright then, so!! Here we go then! I'm putting out a casting call with this thread to begin with and what I'd like to have happen is that anyone interested in adding a character to this RP send me a PM to discuss the details of how they will design and introduce their character/s.

Note: This RP is not erotic in nature, and is more based in violence and combat. There is romance allowed, but nothing overly explicit. I know this site loves to deal with that stuff, but in this particular RP I'd appreciate it if you'd keep it to a bare minimum. Hugs, kisses or flirtatious actions such as slapping each other on the butt are all okay. But no sex scenes please. Thank you.

Characters!

All characters must have this information below filled out in a PM to me before they will be accepted into the RP. Once I give you the go ahead to begin posting, then re-post this information at the top of your character's introduction so that everyone knows exactly who you're portraying and what they are in for when they interact with you.

Stats marked with an (*) are for female characters only.

Name:
Age:
Home Nation:
Current Location/Residence:
Sex:
Physical Description: (hair color, eye color, skin tone, complexion, scars, tattoos, etc,)
Height:
Weight:
Body Type:
* Measurements:

Equipment: (examples are weaponry, supplies they keep on hand, clothing, etc,)

Personality: Minimum of one full paragraph with five to seven sentences please. Be sure to include likes/dislikes and behavioral quirks which make your characters stand out.

Bio: This must be at least three paragraphs in length of five to seven sentences each and be fully detailed. If your character has any scars or tattoos then explain exactly how, when and why they were acquired here. If your character has any mental issues then explain how, when and why they were acquired here. You get the idea, be detailed. Thank you!

Rules of the RP:

1. No god-moding. Your character is human, plain and simple. Anyone caught avoiding all manner of injury is going to be booted from the RP without question.
2. You may create more than one character (max of three, all of whom need to be cleared with me before they may make their debut)
3. You may instigate a romance between your own character and another (so long as you seek permission from the owner of the character before hand, unless it's also one of your own in which case asking yourself for permission may be entertaining but it's kind of pointless)
4. You may specialize in any number of weapons appropriate for your age and from a realistic experience standpoint. This means that if you're twenty years old you're not going to specialize in the sword, axe, lance, gun, bow and arrow, dagger and whip all at once. If you're sixty, then maybe, but who wants to portray an old man who can do it all but otherwise has no life? (Of course now there's going to be at least one person creating a character who can do just that, but be careful because that could be considered god-moding depending on how you play)
5. If you wish to engage in combat with another character, then you must not only contact the one you're going to be fighting to discuss choreography, but you must okay it with me before either of you begin the fight. All fights are free from outside moderation and will be entirely up to the combatants to decide a winner and a loser, and what it means for the one who loses.
6. This RP centers in a world where the laws of physics apply. Anyone caught trying to perform the impossible will be warned on the first offense, but if there is a second offense then goodbye.
7. If you are unsure of how to respond to either an action, event, environmental circumstance or anything else, just ask me in a PM and I will help you.
8. Show respect to your fellow posters both IC and OOC. If there is a verbal argument between your characters, that is one thing. I will not allow OOC arguing in this RP, so keep it to yourselves. Thanks.

That's about it!

I will have a character posted within the next two to three days and the RP will be open as soon as that post is made. Anyone wishing to join in please send me a PM with your character's stats and such and we'll see about you getting into posting!

Later!

Name: Taira
Age: 24
Home Nation: Cre' Est
Current Location/Residence: Unknown
Sex: Female
Physical Description: Standing at 5' 6", Taira is unimpressive at first glance. She has long, dark brown hair that falls to the center of her back. Her bangs are parted to frame her face, creating a heart shape from her brow to her chin. She is lean and muscular, and has a very mature and feminine figure despite the loose and somewhat masculine clothing that she regularly wears to hide it.
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 120 lbs
Body Type: Athletic
Measurements: 35C - 24 - 34

Equipment: Long Dagger (12" blade, not counting the handle), poison darts and throwing knives. "utility" belt with pouches to hold smaller objects such as herbs and vials of poison/medicine. She also regularly keeps a small canteen at her hip just in case.

Personality: Taira is very quiet and reserved, but will not hesitate to join a conversation when necessary. She's polite and well mannered despite her profession as an Assassin, not to mention her training under the Red-Eyed Demon. Her skills are great, but she is very humble and compassionate for those she fights for and she has a strong sense of justice. She enjoys spending time outdoors and also enjoys outdoor activities such as sports, hiking, camping, et cetera. She hates bugs larger than her hand and has had a fear of reptiles ever since she was little.

Bio: Taira was born to wealthy aristocrats in Cre' Est, but despite the life of luxury and comfort she never felt quite at home. While her parents weren't always around, when they were they spent most of their time with her and did their best to provide her with a loving and well educated environment. When she was twelve she got a job in the Capitol City as a "chore" girl working for the neighbors. She would cook and clean for the parents whenever they could not be around to do so themselves, and would play with the children while they were away. In many ways, she was a house/baby sitter.

When Taira was sixteen she bore witness to the results of the Red-Eyed Demon's work, and was absolutely mortified by the completely senseless and brutal nature of it all. However, the results were not what she expected. Shortly after the death of his target, who had been a powerful and dangerous politician, life in the city began to improve for those without the kind of luxury she grew up with. The results were clear to her as she saw the families she helped care for begin to grow happier and healthier and no longer needed her care. She found one of the Assassins of Te'i Sai near death in an alleyway several months later and she questioned him about how to find their lair until he died from loss of blood.

She followed the instructions to find the fortress in Roda Valley and was almost killed on sight, but luckily for her one of those who found her was a Master Assassin and not a scout. The Master Assassin was able to see her obvious potential and so he took her in and began her training. One year later she became a full fledged Assassin and her talents were put to use. Not long afterward, she began to get suspicious of the actions she was involved in as they didn't seem to make any sense until she looked at them from a broader perspective. She abandoned Te'i Sai and was branded a traitor with the Red-Eyed Demon sent to administer her punishment.

When he found her, she thought she was going to die until he explained to her that he knew the truth about what was going on and that she could prove useful to him in destroying Te'i Sai if she agreed to follow him. She agreed right away and began training under him after they returned to the fortress and killed Grandmaster Takai. There was difficulty in their escape, but they managed to do so and ended up finding a few new allies along the way before the fortress finally fell almost one year later. Since then, Taira has been supporting the Red-Eyed Demon from afar and working as one of his scouts.

Today, she'll find that a new path that is all her own has been opened up to her.

------------------------------------------

The silence of the night was broken by the screech of a forest animal meeting its untimely demise. Birds scattered and the trees shed hundreds of leaves and branches as the panicking fowl tried to make good their escape from the impending danger. Sounds of scampering animals all around began to echo through the trees as the all too familiar scent of blood began filling the air.

"... It's not far." She said quietly to herself.

Devil Wolves were common in the forests of Triveila, and she knew that there was a small pack of them closing in around her. One of them, likely the Alpha of the group, had just made a kill and was beginning to feed. The rest of the pack was probably circling her up right now, as the sounds of their guttural growling started penetrating through the trees.

Slowly but surely, the silhouettes of large canine bodies began to appear from the darkness of the treeline around her.

One... Two... Three... Four... Four of them in total, minus the Alpha She thought to herself.

The wolves were an average of eight feet long and stood about three and a half feet at the shoulder. They were powerful and determined hunters and could tackle prey much, much larger than themselves. For her to survive this encounter would take a miracle, but then again, miracles weren't always accidents.

As the first wolf came into her field of view, her green eyes met with a pair of yellow spheres with a very small pupil, making the animal appear crazed as if it had no mind to guide the body. However, these animals were incredibly intelligent despite their crazed appearance, and it was clear that they were beginning to analyze their situation as they slowly circled in closer.

Finally the first wolf could stand it no longer and leaped at her for all its worth. Her hand had been on the hilt of her dagger since the moment she heard the shriek of the unfortunate victim of the Alpha, and she then stepped to the side, narrowly missing being ripped by the front claws of the beast as she slashed at its chest. A high pitched yelp erupted from the hunter as the blade tore into its flesh below what would be its collar bone, if it had one, and it fell to the ground and rolled away in pain. By the time it got to its feet, Taira was already on top of it again as she dug her dagger into its eye socket, the wolf going limp not but a second later as she pulled the knife free in time to defend her face against the jaws of another hunter.

She fell to the ground and received a large gash in her left shoulder above her breast from its front claws and used her right arm to shove the blade forward into its mouth, splitting the it at the corners and causing it to retreat from shock and pain. She stood up as fast as she could and placed the blade in her right hand, facing the last hunter as a howl from the darkness called it back and away from her, not that she minded of course. As the creature disappeared into the darkness, she immediately turned and fled the other direction as she headed towards a nearby town that she had recently tried to travel from. Unfortunately for her, she had to go back which was going to lose her some time.

As she ran back to the town her wound began to tear slightly, and her once dark green shirt turned black with blood as she struggled to fight the pain and keep running. Within the next few minutes she managed to get the town back in sight and she ran through the gate into the streets as she searched right and left for a place with lights on so that she could ask for help. As she rounded the corner of the street ahead her hopes began to fade until she spotted a single light on in the distance. She ran for it with all speed and more than once stumbled in her path as she tried to reach her salvation.

After what seemed an eternity she reached her destination and knocked on the door, praying with all her might that someone was awake and willing to help her.

Name:Clover
Age:18
Home Nation:Shaharan
Current Location/Residence:Shaharan/Triveila border town
Sex:male
Physical Description: Long black hair to his waist. Often mistaken for a girl due to hair and small stature. Has a brand of the capitol gaurd on his pale left arm(a crescent moon axe).
Height:5'5"
Weight:190lbs
Body Type:Slim and athletic.

Clover rolled out of bed at the sound of knocking. He was just about to put out the light when the racket started. The cabin was small...single room with a small fire place. A single bed in the corner, a few chairs and a table. The other 2 guards where currently on patrol. or at least they where supposed to be. Clover thought that was probably one of them coming back drunk.

He had marched 9 hours to this god awful town because of rumors. For the past 3 weeks reports had been coming to the capitol that wolves had been attacking anyone and anything in sight. After the last report Perrin had dispatched his top 3 guards including Clover.

so help me god if this isn't important i'm going to hurt someone... He thought with a growl as he put on his boots and shirt. He picked up his sword as well. After all he knew the guards weren't much loved by these border towns.

As he opened the door he felt two things. The first was the cold night air against his skin. The second was shock! Standing before him with blood on her from head to toe. Some was obviously hers from what looked to be a nasty gash in her shoulder but some was not.

Clover opened the door more and pointed his sword down as not to show any aggression.

Dumb founded the only thing he could think of to say was "are you okay ma'am?"

Taira shook from cold and blood loss as she looked the young man who answered the door in the eyes.

"... Please... I need help. My shoulder's been badly gashed by Devil Wolves. If you have a room I could use to fix this, I will be out of your way within the hour. I just need somewhere to warm up and disinfect the wound." She pleaded.

She was doing her best to remain strong and keep from stuttering, which was harder than she thought given how cold the night was becoming. She had what she needed to get through the cold, but right now with her clothing soaked in blood there wasn't much she could do.

The Red-Eyed Demon had recently contacted her and told her about a person of interest in one of the nearby cities about four days walk from this one. She had been on her way when the wolves attacked, and now she needed to clean and patch her wounds before heading off. She could deal with the pain, but her body was not so lucky as to simply brush off the bacteria in the saliva and on the claws of the Devil Wolves. She had what she needed in her pouch to take care of the problem, but she couldn't do it without a mirror and time.

Looking the young girl up and down Clover nodded.

"Please come in. I have a small medical kit. There's a wash basin in the corner but i'm afraid the water might be a bit cool. If you give me a few ill get a fire started.

Standing aside so the lady could come in Clover checked outside. The others shouldn't be back till near dawn or least he hoped. Knowing Jacklo and Draven they would get bored and come back early.

"You said the devil wolves did this? You're lucky they didn't take more then a few pieces of flesh. That's actually why im here...to get rid of them...well me and the others anyways. Oh yes...sorry im rattling on. my names clover of the Shaharan guard. whats your name miss?"

While waiting for a reply clover walked over to his small pack. inside was nothing special. a small med kit, some flint and tinder, a spare set of clothes and a letter from one of his sisters. Pulling out ther med kit and flint and tinder he walks over to the fire place and puts a few logs and kindling in and starts a small fire.

Taira walked inside at his invitation and scanned the interior. She walked over to the wash basin and turned on the water, and as he said it was cold. However, this would not be a problem for her as she was used to such things. Often times when she needed to wash something it was in a creek or at a lake where the water was always cold and unforgiving. This was nothing new.

"Thank you very much..." She said quietly as she took off her outer coat and pulled her left arm free from her shirt through the collar and shifted her shirt down until the entire wound was exposed.

It nearly exposed her chest, but luckily there was enough shirt to cover what was important as she checked her wound visually before reaching through her pack for her herbs. It took a second or two to find them all, but she laid them out in front of her and took as much as she needed before setting them into a small grinding bowl she pulled from her pouch and ground them up into a fine powder. She mixed the powder with some water and waiting for it to become thicker before applying it to her chest. It stung without mercy, but it was a sign that the medicinal properties of the herbs were working.

She took another minute or two before she was finished cleaning and applying the herbs, but once she was she took out a small needle and thread from one of the pockets in her belt and and got to work on sewing her wound shut. Luckily her mentor, the Red-Eyed Demon, was an expert at such surgical undertakings and so she learned to sew wounds very, very well. She took but a minute to finish stitching the wound shut before she replaced her arm inside her shirt and put it back to its proper position on her torso. She took her coat and put it back on as well, turning to the young man who had allowed her entry and giving him a light bow.

"I apologize for not answering your question as to who I am, but I pray that you will let that be. I have no time to remain here any longer, and I must bid you goodnight and good fortune. If I do not leave now, you may fall victim to a terrible misfortune and I do not wish for that to happen. You showed me a great kindness this night, and so I would like to repay it by leaving you in peace."

Taira was on the trail of someone very dangerous, but she was also aware that she herself was being tailed by a team of Te'i Sai Assassins who very, very close. She had felt their presence all night, and if she didn't leave now there was no telling what would happen to this kind young man and those who stayed with him if they suddenly burst in and began to fight with her. There was little doubt this young man knew how to defend himself, but against the likes of an Assassin from Te'i Sai she could not say for sure.

She turned towards the door and began to leave.

Clover stood stunned the med kit forgotten as the young lady started treating her wound. Though he was no stranger to the female body he still blushed and turned around as the girl worked. Clover had seen enough of this on the battlefield. Indeed he had several wounds himself that he had stitched himself. But stil...something was strange. how did this girl know how to do this so expertly.

When she turned and bowed it caught him by surprise. As she walked toward the door Clover took a step forward to stop her when suddenly the door burst in sending debris everywhere.

Standing in the door was a figure dressed in mostly greys and black. the first thing that rushed though Clovers mind was assassin!. Not even thinking Clover grabbed the small dagger ion the night stand and sent it flying right past the girls head and at the person in the door. In the same motion he dived for where his sword was propped up against the wall.

Taira flinched at the sudden destruction of the door and identified the enemy before her as one of Te'i Sai's Assassins. Sure enough, they had found her before she could make a clean getaway from this place, and now there was a very real danger of this kind stranger being killed. She couldn't let that happen, and as the knife flew passed her head she lunged forward.

The Assassin leaned out of the way of the knife as it flew passed, but could not avoid her lunge and was shoved out of the doorway and into the streets. Taira quickly recovered her footing and turned to face her newly acquired opponent as he too recovered his footing and turned to face her, not paying any heed to who was inside the house. Te'i Sai Assassins focused solely on their target, and that was both a blessing and a curse.

When she stood out in the street, she looked around and saw that there were two others perched on balconies overlooking the street to either side of the street. The only real retreat that would yield any result was behind her, but she dared not turn her back against an Assassin of Te'i Sai. Despite the fact that she too was one of them, she knew all too well that skills differed greatly from one Assassin to another.

The Assassin in front of her took a step forward and drew his weapon, a chain whip with a blade on the end of it from behind his back. It was likely that one of the other two had an explosive or two with him given the way the door vanished earlier.

This was going to be a long night.

Clover quickly grabbed his bastard sword and turned in time to see both the girl and the intruder fly through the door way out into the street.

fuck this is bad...this might be a small town but someone could still be hurt...fuck!

Clover rushed outside into the cold. Instantly wind started whipping his long hair around. In the night he could see the girl and intruder standing off against each other. He also noticed two other dressed the same as the intruder perched up high.

So..one on the ground...2 on high ground. Not the best situation but I've seen worse. Best plan of attack? get the 2 up high down. fast way? attack their friend and force them down..

Clover grinned and with a quick movement rushed past the girl and struck at the assassin on the ground.

Taira's eyes widened in shock and horror when the kind stranger who helped her rushed the Assassin. Though he wasn't paying attention and was caught off guard, he would not stay down long enough to be killed.

Sure enough he rolled when he hit the ground and quickly spun and got back to his feet, cracking his whip out and sending a loud snap through the air. Taira jogged a step forward and took up a side next to the stranger as the other two Assassins continued to watch. Her guess was that they were just witnesses, which meant she only had the one in front of her to worry about.

She did another quick analysis of the two up top and they didn't have weapons on them, confirming her suspicions. With any luck this night wouldn't be quite so long. She looked over at the stranger and gave him a glare, shaking her head as the whip began to go in circles around the assailant ahead of them.

Her eyes tracked the whip as it spun, judging every sweep.

One... Two... Three... Four...

As it came around for another sweep she lunged forward, just missing the tip with the blade as he struggled to return it to a better position for use, but it was not fast enough. Taira was already on him, and she loosed a punch with her left hand which he caught in front of his face. The problem for him was that his other hand held the whip, which was now cocked and prepared behind his head, but not in a position to be of close combat use. With her fight hand Taira dug her nails into his face just below the eyes and raked them downward.

Blood dripped from the wounds, but he was well trained and kicked Taira away before she could notice his boot heading her way. She reeled from the attack for a moment before regaining her breath and composure, but the whip was gone.

Suddenly, a short but loud snap next to her head caught her attention as she suddenly saw the whip back by his side. She looked at him in confusion for a moment before feeling her throat.

... Not there...

There was a strange smirk on his face, and then she happened to track his eyes and look down. Her shirt was completely split from one side to the other and opened up revealing her chest. Her eyes narrowed and she looked back up at him as she completely tore off the now useless rag that was her shirt. Now half naked in the street, Taira knew she was in control since this man's testosterone was now in full swing as he eyed her breasts.

Taira took in a breath, allowing her chest to rise. She let it out through her lips, letting her chest fall. His eyes remained on her chest as he struck out again with the whip, this time with Taira parrying the attack with her dagger as the blade of the whip came around by her head again. The impact caused the inevitable to happen, and her chest reacted to her sudden movement by jerking too and fro, and his smile widened.

She was getting sick of this, so she decided it was time to play a game of her own. She smiled back at him and drew an "X" across her chest with her dagger, providing the Assassin with a target. He continued to whirl the whip around and prepared to strike the spot that Taira had marked for him when suddenly there was a sound which even Taira wasn't prepared for.

There was a gut wrenching cracking sound as the whip slowly came to a stop and the man's face began to twist into a look of pure terror and pain. Then, from out of nowhere, a blade extended from his chest below the collar bone and ripped downward, splitting his body into two parts below the neck and sending his insides everywhere around him on the ground. His body fell limp to the ground in a heap, and the bodies of his two witnesses fell shortly afterward.

As his body fell to the ground, a figure appeared behind him. Dressed in black, black hair flowing in the breeze, and glowing red eyes shining from the darkness, Taira knew exactly who was standing in front of them. She knelt down on one knee and bowed her head before standing again and smiling.

"Hello Master." She said quietly as the figure stepped out from the darkness.

He was six foot on the mark, black hair, red eyes, a lean and very muscular body frame, and a look on his face that spoke of nothing but pure indifference to what had just happened.

"Taira, you should know better than to face a whip with a knife." He said in a low and admonishing tone.

Taira bowed her head.

"I know Master, but it was the only weapon I had on me which would do anything. If I threw a knife at him he'd either catch it or dodge it, so my dagger was really my only option."

The figure before her, confirmed to be the legendary Red-Eyed Demon, shook his head and sighed.

"You always have options... You have but to look around you." He said quietly.

The two of them stepped forward and embraced in a hug before the Red-Eyed Demon and the figures in the darkness who had killed the witnesses on the balconies disappeared silently into the night.

Taira sighed and looked around, hoping to find something to cover her chest with. She was used to such happenings, and had lost almost all sense of modesty along the way. She eventually found a small blanket lying near a door to one of the nearby houses and used that to wrap her torso before turning back towards the young man who had helped her.

"I'm sorry about all this." She said quietly with a bow.

"I must be off now. Thank you again for your help. I appreciate the kindness, especially when times so tough leave so many bitter and evil people in their wake." She said with a smile.

Name: Estelle Morgan
Age: 16
Home Nation: Cre'Est
Current Location/Residence: Unknown
Sex: Female
Physical Description: Ebony hair, kept in a long straight pony tail. Blue eyes. Pale features.
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 130lbs
Body Type: Athletic
* Measurements: 34B 24 34

Equipment: Rapier, short bow and climbing gloves.

Personality: Estelle has a vengeful spirit, born out of her hatred for the Assassins of Te'i Sai. Although she has a good heart, she is naturally untrusting of strangers and even finds it difficult to trust people she knows well. She suspects everyone of possibly being a part of the Assassins of Te'i Sai. She loves to sing, although rarely does these days, and enjoys archery. Among her dislikes are cruel people, a phobia of ending up alone, and dangerous fires.

Bio: The youngest daughter of a merchant family, Estelle grew up in relative comfort. It wasn't until her brother, Lawrence Morgan, was recruited by the Assassins of Te'i Sai, that life went down hill. To begin with, they lived with more freedom than any other citizens, but after her brother betrayed the order, they were marked for death. Escaping with only minor burns from their family homestead burning down suspiciously, she seeks retribution and revenge for the murder of her brother through execution, and her parents through murder. During the fire, her back and left shoulder were scarred. She found sanctuary at a local monastery, where she was nursed back to health. It took her six months before she left the safety of their hidden care, and the world had changed so much that she felt lost and disorientated. It took less than a day before the Assassins of Te'i Sai happened upon her wandering the streets after curfew. She was detained, and whipped harshly (among other punishments), until her body bled and ached so much she could barely breathe. One night, the den was attacked, and she was freed.

During the night, when the streets were void of life beyond the occasional sentry doing his rounds, or a stray dog hunting for scraps, the sounds of fighting in the streets could be heard for several blocks to anyone listening for such sounds. It was even more so apparent due to the occasional sound of metal clattering against stone, or more metal. Estelle had been moving from town to town in search of the people who had helped free her for months. Ever since her escape from the Assassins den. It had been chaos, and although she was dragged from the basement and left on the doorstep to the local herbalist, they had not identified themselves. But stories were shared by loose mouthed drunkards.

In the months since her escape, her body had healed up enough to travel again. And she had reclaimed enough equipment to survive in the forests between stops. A standard wolf was still capable of giving her a run for her money, but she seemed to have a keen sense of eyesight, and patience. Her specialty was traps and snares when hunting for dinner.

Estelle had never been trained formally, not since her brother had been killed anyway. And those secret lessons between brother and sister were short lived, and only spanned a good portion of one year. He had found her key abilities, and her weaknesses though. And given her the strength to improve on her own.

You are like a cat, my dear sister. Quick and quiet, and nimble. No wonder you give Mother and Father such a hard time when it comes to finding you for chores.

Looking back now, she would have given anything to have been able to keep her childhood. To do chores, go to school, and play in the street without fear. But those days had passed as quickly as her family had.

As she reached a pile of firewood nestled at the back of a small home, the sounds of fighting stopped. Instantly she became as still as the night, and her ears almost twitched alertly as she tried to listen for more details. Soon the wind brought the sound of hushed voices, and Estelle climbed onto the roof and quickly made her way to a better vantage point hastily. She kept her mouth shut, and head down. If they had of been guards, or normal citizens then she would have no problem remaining hidden. But if they were Assassins of Te'i Sai, then they were skilled enough to notice her.

Her eyes caught a glimpse of two figures, speaking to someone else. She couldn't see the other person because they were standing under the veranda of the house she had climbed on top of. And there were dark figures littering the ground, not moving. It was only after watching for the briefest of moments that she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Something, or someone was on the roof behind her.

Remaining as still as she could muster, she hoped they assumed she didn't notice them. And by all rights she shouldn't have been able to. But maybe it was the slight change in the direction of the wind that brought a faint scent to her nostrils, or it might have been a tremor sent through the roof as pressure was placed on it. She had no idea. But after a brief moment of waiting, she knew for a fact that someone was creeping up on her slowly. She couldn't hear them. They were good. With one hand clutching her short bow, arrow notched on the string but not drawn back, she assessed her choices.

If they were good, then she would be dead before spinning around and drawing back the bow. If they were decent, then she might get an arrow off before they were upon her. And if they were stupid, then they wouldn't be so quiet. She assumed they had skill.

Assassin of Te'i Sai! she thought, and an alarm began to sound inside her head. If it was them, she was dead for sure.

She was holding onto a roof tile, and without hesitation she tossed it behind her at the approaching ominous creature. And with no ceremony, she hurled herself onto the other side of the roof and began the fast roll towards the edge. Estelle imagined hitting the cobblestones below and cracking her skull open. By now anyone on the streets below would have heard the snapping of her arrow as she rolled over it, and the tiles rattling around. And by the edge of the roof she had enough speed to be thrown out a good meter. Her hands searched for the ledge but to no avail and time seemed to slow down.

When she rolled off the edge, she let out a sharp cry as she saw someone directly below her.

A woman, with a blanket.

Oh god, please don't be some old lady I'm about to kill!

hundreds of thoughts ran through Clovers mind. He had been able to get in one swipe and then the girl had taken over. He had watched the other 2 assassins die at the hands of others. He had seen the most wanted man in the world. Now he stood dumb founded...staring at the young lady covered in a blanket telling him to leave her alone. His legs started to move on their own following the girl.

why...why am i doing this...im a guard in the army. i was the dead ghost on the battle field...yet i feel like i should follow her.

Then he saw something he never thought to see. A girl falling from the sky and landing on another half naked girl.

Clover could just stare again and remark "ya know...im not sure if this is the best night of my life or the worst...but ill say this. It has to be the most interesting. And i have the feeling its gonna get a lot more interesting if i stick with you red eyed demon apprentice."

Taira was about to turn and leave when all of a sudden a body came from out of nowhere and landed on top of her, knocking her to the ground. The blanket remained in place, luckily for those around her since they'd be witnesses to the scars of battle she carried given her proximity to a light source.

It took her a moment to regain her composure after being knocked to the ground like that, but she soon sat up and checked the young woman who had fallen on her.

"Um, excuse me. Are you alright? What in the world were you doing up there that could cause such a fall?" She asked.

She looked up towards the rooftops but saw nothing there. Surely, if there had been a threat her mentor would have had it taken care of. It was his way of showing he cared when he otherwise tried to not show anything at all. So what prompted such a response and a fall for this young lady?

The air in Estelle's lungs got forced out as she landed, but luckily the lady she had landed on saved her from any serious injuries. She did however scrape up the back of her hand, causing blood to seep from the wound. It was minor, and not worth worrying about. Looking up rather embarrassed and aware of her proximity to another person, she quickly retreated off the woman. Firstly she was just glad it had been who she was looking for, and not an elderly lady.

Still on her hands and knees before Taira, she bowed her head as low as she felt comfortable and looked up at her.

"One thousand apologies, I was merely trying to find you."

There might have been a chance that they recognized her, but it was slim. Why would they. Yes, she suspected very strongly that it had been the Red-Eyed Demon, and his apprentice that had freed her. But it wasn't as if they probably payed notice to every prisoner they rescued.

"Several months ago you saved my life. You took out a den of Te'i Sai who held me prisoner. I wish to repay that debt by serving you." Moving over, she held out her arm, hoping she could help Taira up. Not that she needed the help.

"I'm far from an assassin, but I can hunt and hold my own against most people. I know you would think of me more as a burden, but even if its just to sharpen your blades, gather firewood, cook food and tend to horses. I will serve you as best I can."

After helping the woman up, although she didn't really help it was more there as a show of respect, she got down on her knees again and bowed her head down.

"My life is yours."

After a moment of silence, she looked up to see their reactions. "Um, and the reason for falling is because I thought I felt someone behind me. Probably just my fear getting to me."

Taira accepted the lift and stood up straight, eying this new arrival suspiciously when she mentioned that she had been looking for her. She did remember rescuing a few people from a den Te'i Sai had established, but otherwise she didn't remember this individual's face or voice.

"Umm... Thank you very much. I appreciate the offer but, I'm not sure that I can accept it."

She thought about it for a second and remembered what her mentor had finished telling her not but a minute earlier.

You always have options... You have but to look about you.

"Actually... I think I will accept your help after all. I have already made a few mistakes tonight which could have been the end of me had circumstances been different. Thank you, but please do me this one favor: Do not devote your life to me. Your life is yours, and yours alone."

She walked forward and offered a smile and put her hand on the young woman's shoulder.

"May I ask the name of my new companion?" She asked pleasantly.

Clover eyed the two ladies and sighed.

"I hate to say this but I'm coming you too. My resons for now are my own but they are not ill toward you. Sides we need to leave now. The other two I'm with will be back shortly"

Clover walked back into the house and quickly gathered his things, most still unpacked. Taking one last look he grinned

Well this is my escape father..but one day I'll return and that day will be your end.

With that thought he walked back outside and toward his destiny.

Taira was somewhat surprised when the young man from before walked over to say that he was coming as well. It had been a few years since Taira had company on the road, but she welcomed the pleasant... though sometimes interesting memories that it brought with it.

"Well... I guess if you insist. I'll take this time to warn you both that we'll be coming across more of these Assassins along the way so if you're not both mentally and physically prepared to face them then you should take this time to do that. The ones we fought today were on the low end of the ranking system, and they'll only get harder from here. Especially if we come near to a den or if we wander within the boundaries of one of the actual bases."

Taira took a moment to look around for a moment to check their surroundings and then looked back to her two new comrades with a new and almost stern expression on her face.

"Take note of this before we leave: I do not babysit anyone. If your supplies run low it's on you to resupply. I will not wait for you to do that. If you get left behind then my advice is to go home since I will not be coming back for you. So long as you're alright with that, then let's be off."

Taira was a kind and gentle person at heart but she was still the Red-Eyed Demon's protege, and as such some of his mannerisms when on the road had rubbed off on her. When traveling she was tough, determined and tenacious when it came to reaching her goals. A few times in the past she had lost a companion when they fell behind or had to stop and resupply and they had not double checked with her the destination and so they had been forever left behind as she continued on without them as if they were never there.

Taira was resourceful, cunning and relentless. Whenever she was alone on the road and had to accomplish a task, be it simple or extremely dangerous and complex, she was able to get the job done with or without help. Thanks to her training under the Red-Eyed Demon she knew almost all the major potions and poisons in Cre' Est, Shaharan and Triveila and could use almost any weapon in combat if she had to so long as it held a blade somewhere.

Having two new companions, one who seemed nothing more than a fresh soldier and one being something of a mysterious could-be Assassin, would make for a very interesting time on the road. However, she was not ready for idle chat as she needed to find her nearest stash of supplies and get a new shirt. While she wasn't shy about going around with just a blanket to cover her, she wanted her clothing since it was specifically tailored to her needs.

As she walked down the street towards the city gate she began to feel a sense of nostalgia come over her and she couldn't help but smile to herself. The closer they got to the gate the more excited she became about the prospect of another adventure with these two tagging along. While it might be difficult at times to keep them alive against the foes they were inevitably going to face, she welcomed the challenge since, compared to what her mentor had put her through, this was nothing.

Looking up at the mention that she would be allowed to follow, she thanked the woman several times before standing up. Whilst the others talked, she pulled her small pack off her back and rummaged through it. Inside she kept her spare change of clothing. Pulling out a fresh dark purple coloured shirt, she slipped her pack back on and picked up her bow. Jogging the few yards to catch up, she slipped her bow over her shoulder as she usually carried it. Her quiver bounced against her leg, and she noticed that the buckle had come undone in the fall. Stopping for a second, she quickly did it back up and checked that she hadn't lost anything. When she was sure she could continue walking without having to stop to change or fix anything, she made her way to Taira's side.

"Please, take this shirt. I'm smaller than you, but it is a rather loose shirt." To tell the truth, it had been made for someone much older than herself, but with the little coin she had, it had been cheap enough. It was warm and comfortable, and that was all that mattered. Although, for Taira it might not be very loose around her breasts, but the shirt was a slit collar, and had ties in that case.

After a few moments, she spoke up again.

"And I'm Estelle Morgan, sometimes people just call me Elle."

She didn't dare ask where they were going, but she made a mental note to pay attention to the roads and routes they took. Perhaps she would get an idea just from their heading. In the mean time, she would make sure Taira was warm at night, didn't go hungry and that her belongings were in good condition. It was the least she could do.

Taira heard Estelle's name come about as she began walking and heard the nickname Elle come up as well. It would make things easier on her to use the name Elle, and she was thankful for the shirt. She quickly dropped the blanket mid stride and continued walking as she put the shirt on and whipped her hair to each side to make sure it was clear of the collar.

"Thank you Elle." She said pleasantly over her shoulder.

With that Taira began to pick up the pace and started to jog. It was a brisk pace, but easy enough to keep up over longer periods of time. When training under her mentor, the Red-Eyed Demon, she was forced to remain by his side when he ran from location to location, typically non stop, for hours at a time. Her long term endurance had reached quite the impressive peak, and after what she had seen from the two who were following her she was not entirely sure they would be able to keep up with her at first. Over time, absolutely, as they both had fantastic potential that she could see, but she would have to stop within the next hour or so to let them catch their breaths before continuing.

Their destination right now, from their current position on the border of Shaharan, was to head deep into the heart of Triveila in search of a new target she had been assigned to by her mentor. This individual was not named, only a description was given. This individual had long blonde hair, was in her late thirties, dressed finely as a member of the noble class, and could typically be found strutting about in the Central Square in the city of C'eil Mak.

It wasn't much, but it she knew it wouldn't be too hard to find this individual as her mentor never gave her targets of innocence. No, her targets were always well known and not very well liked individuals who were usually involved in some form of corruption or crime. Whomever this woman was, she was neck deep in whatever horrible situation it was that her mentor was sending her into. She was prepared, as always, to do whatever was necessary to get the job done quickly, but she was beginning to see a strange pattern emerging from these recent missions and she had a feeling that at least some of her questions would be answered with this recent target.

Clover kept an even pace with his new companions. Thoguh the pace was brisk it was rather easy for Clover who was used to traveling at such pace with a 80lb pack and armor on. now in just pants, shirt and carrying a light pack as well as his sword it was easy.

He wondered if the other guards would report him as a deserter or dead. Oh to see the look on his fathers face when he learned the news.

Fuck them he thought. "my names clover by the way. not sure if names matter much though. im curious where we are heading. from the direction i would venture we are heading into Triveila. if thats the case i should warn you...im not very well liked there.."

Taira looked over her shoulder as they exited the city gates.

"Pleasure Clover." She said pleasantly.

She continued on at this pace, knowing that the others were having an easy time keeping up thus far. She heard Clover's question, but she was a bit reluctant to reveal the exact location of where she was headed.

The reason for this was that her destination was underground and within the path of the organized crime lords of Triveila. Their influence and power within the nation and their pull over the ruling class was not known by the common people, but to Assassins like her it was common knowledge and it was unthinkable for her to just let them go.

However, her primary target was still the first thing on her mind. She knew what she was looking for, but she didn't yet know who. Finding out who she was looking for was going to be interesting, but she was looking forward to it.

But when she was finished eliminating this target, she was going after the organized crime lords and doing whatever it took to bring their reign in Triveila to an end. She was not going to put these two into that path if she could help it.

Tenebris

Name: Tenebris
Age: 22.
Home Nation: Cre'Est.
Current Location: Unknown.
Sex: Male.
Physical Description: Standing at six feet and seven inches, Tenebris has a rough beard to complement his brown hair and deep blue eyes. His walk suits that of a Te'i Sai Assassin: Cold, calm, and confident. His style of fighting is flashy, though not in a cocky way. He keeps his features hidden within the shadows of his deep black cowl, and black clothing covers his dark leather armor.
Height: 6"7'.
Weight: 220 lbs.
Equipment: Pair of wristblades hidden within his sleeves and a longsword strapped to his utility belt filled with the various tools an Assassin might need. Black clothing and hood over his dark leather armor.

Personality: His personality mirrors his walk: Cold, calm, and confident. He serves the Te'i Sai loyally, though the recent betrayal of the Red Eyed Demon has shaken his faith. He believes in no deity or god and is a very level-headed person. He is difficult to enrage and rarely speaks to even his fellow assassins, preferring to stick to himself.

Bio: Born to a corrupt politition, he lived a life of luxury in his early years. He was taught on his family's estate by private tutors and was trained in the ways of the blade since he was four years old. He had never taken a preferance to either, and thus his father continued both lessons. He learned quickly, outclassing his combat trainer by fourteen years of age. His father simply hired a new one and continued the lessons, planning on offering the small boy to the Te'i Sai upon realizing his son had a knack for combat.

His training continued, adding the element of stealth before the new combat trainer came into play. His father hired the best thieves in the city that he could find to train his son in the ways of the shadows. Soon his son started to bring his own income to the household with his thievery. He made it in with the local thieves' guild and gained the trust of the fences there, spending his nights learning from the thieves and his days studying his father's library. His father soon fell behind on some payments he owed the Te'i Sai. Out of ignorance, not of being unable to pay.

Naturally this did not sit well with the Assassins. He was murdered brutally in the night a mere week after the missed payment without warning. The Assassin was arrogant and paid no heed to the teenage boy who had witnessed the murder. That was, of course, until he felt the blade slipped between his ribs a week later. He crawled away and bled out ahortly after. His father, after a few other words and bits of information, told him where he could find the Te'i Sai. He swore to avenge his father, and avenge him he did.

He presented the wristblades of the Assassin to the Te'i Sai, and soon they themselves took him in for training to be an Assassin, granting him the blades of the man he had killed as his own. He learned of the top Assassin in the order, the Red-Eyed Demon, and followed his every move, studying every job and every kill he had made, vowing to himself to one day take his place as Master Assassin.

To this day, he serves the Te'i Sai, having completed his training and being released to do the job of a Te'i Sai Assassin, his deep blue eyes revealing no emotion as he carries out his duty.

(Wrote all of this on my phone.)

The grandmaster watched the fight quietly. It was a one versus three match, hand to hand combat. The three consisted of one in white clothing, one in brown, and one in crimson. These three were facing one in black clothing, who stood calmly, his face hidden in shadows.

He ran through the forest silently, feet making no sound against the grass, his breathing regular despite the speed he had been moving for the past five hours straight. He had a target, and his target would die.

Crimson moved first, flashing straight forward, ducking and throwing a forward punch, his fist twisting to deliver a more brutal impact. Black was there, then gone in the next second, behind Crimson and delivering a vicious knee to the back of his head. Crimson's face hit the ground right as Brown moved in, attempting to take out Black's legs.

He ran up the side of a tree, leaping backwards to grab a higher branch and pull himself into the trees. He ran along the branches, not slowing his pace in the slightest. Wolves made their den in the area ahead, and he did not want to chance it and risk the mission.

Black delivered a thundering reverse kick, pivoting on a heel and cracking his boot into Brown's chest. He kicked the still-airborne foot into the air, pulling a backflip over White's bull charge and kicking him in the back of the knee upon landing again, turning to block Crimson's straight punch and leaping lightly over Brown's low sweep kick.

A shadow dropped from a tree carefully and silently. The figure disappeared as it hit the ground, melting into the shadows of the forest and reappearing, rising out of nowhere next to a pair of fallen wolves some distance away. He lowered himself slowly to a knee to examine the corpses, seeking the wounds that ended their lives. A blade, roughly twelve inches in length.

Black delivered a straight punch to Brown with his right fist while blocking White's punch with his left. Brown staggered and Black turned to kick White and block Crimson's punch. Black stepped forward to kick Crimson back, putting himself in the middle of the trio and becoming a flurry of blocks and attacks, managing two while assaulting the third.

He looked at the wounds more carefully, identifying the exact blade that made the wounds. He had spent much time memorizing the wounds that blade would have made for just this type of moment. He noted the flesh under one's claws and a trail of blood leading away. He stood carefully and followed it, melting into the shadows once more.

Black landed a decisive blow on Crimson, knocking him on his back. He ducked at Brown, the largest of the three, threw a haymaker at him. Brown hit White instead, staggering both of them. Black came up between them, leaping into the air, delivering a knockout punch and a thundering kick to White and Brown respectively while in the air between them. He landed on his feet and turned to Crimson, who was rising to his feet. He flashed over, stepped up on Crimson's leg while he tried to stand up, and brought his other knee around and into his face, knocking the final of the three down for good.

He raised himself up onto a wall, then leapt from the wall to the building nearest him, observing the town and identifying the blood trail as it led to a house. He stayed completely still, blending in completely with the scenery, only his eyes moving, shadowed within his deep cowl. He noticed a trio of Assassins, Te'i Sai, by the looks of them. Two remained on a building, unarmed, while the third moved to the door the blood trail led to and attached a small satchel to it.

The grandmaster stood and clapped, along with the rest of the hundred-some people gathered there. Black turned and bowed, then walked forward when he was called by the grandmaster. He dropped to a knee in front of the old man. He was almost there. Almost ready to take the Red-Eyed Demon's place in the Te'i Sai.

The satchel detonated, the shadow remained still. A woman rushed out of the building to confront the Assassin, followed by a small man, though one that could have been easily mistaken for a woman. The woman's shirt was cut off by the Assassin, but he was then killed by a form that even he had missed approaching. The Red-Eyed Demon. It was him. The two he had been sent to find were right there. He didn't trust himself to move, however. One false move and the Demon would end him.

And so he stayed, observing the rest of the ongoings while they left. He remained still, as he would for the next hour, before dropping from the building to follow the trio leaving the town, trailing them by their tracks.

Following her new adventuring party, Estelle brought up the rear. Jogging along had been easy enough at first, but after a few miles she started to notice that her right knee hurt. She must have landing on it or something during the fall, and it was just enough to bruise. However, it was far from bad enough to slow her down.

"Clover, I've never heard that name before. Does it have special meaning?" she asked, speeding up so she could include herself in the conversation.

Looking around, she could tell they were heading towards Triveila, but the land was foreign to her. She trusted her new companions, or at least she trusted Taira. She was still wary of Clover, or anyone who might pose a threat to the woman who saved her life.

((Short post, sorry.))

Clover slowed a little so Ella could catch up. She was a pretty girl about his age he thought. The dark hair and blue eyes marked her from cre'est. A little paler then normal but that could be chalked up to the winter.

"as my sisters tell me when our mother was pregnant with me she came upon a field of clovers. She felt at ease there. So she named me Clover. That's all I know."

Thoughts of his sisters made him slow a bit more. Would they be alright now that he was gone? Would this help him help them?

"Taira you're an assassin right? That means you know almost all the high ranking people in the Capitol city's. Tell me what you know of the captain of the guards in the Capitol of Sahahran"

Taira listened to Clover's question but didn't look at him. She remained silent for about a minute as she searched for the right words to use.

"... Assassins are a well informed people Clover, but our individual knowledge and understanding is limited based on our location and our interests as we travel and complete missions. My mentor is much more well versed than I am in such matters, but he does tell me what I need to know about my targets and that is usually enough for me."

She kept jogging as they entered the forest and had to pay slightly more attention in the night to where her feet were going before speaking again after she got her rhythm.

"I am afraid that I don't know anything at all about the Captain of the Guards in Shaharan. However, I do know quite a bit about the men who give him orders and pull his strings. The Senate holds all the real power in Shaharan, even above the Royal Family who are now nothing more than figure heads. When I know so much about them and have them personally in my sights, there really isn't much I need to know about the Captain of the Guards."
