Asking Technical Help Once Again.....

Again I'm trying to find time to learn - when I have the time.

I'm still trying to post pics here on the board. I know some of the rules.

Rule #1 (and correct me if I'm wrong) - the pics in question, the ones I want to post - must be "on the internet." Now, I think I know what that means - nothing from my files (right?) - but, but, but and except - the pics I want you all to see are all in my files.

So, I went to my trusty Hotmail where it says something like "create you own website." Fine, I did that and sucessfully posted some of my pics there. Hu-fucking-ray.

Question: But are those pics on my Hotmail website - "on the internet?" How the fuck am I supposed to know that? I can only assume that they are.

But maybe not, because this is where it all goes wrong....

The next apparent instruction I have is - "go to that pic on the internet (one of the shots on my website?) and right-click the sucker to get "Save Image Location." And BOOM! der it isn't! Here's where I run into problems - when I right-click, all the choices and there are 6 or 8 or so - don't specifically say that - in those words. Some of the choices are close - like - Save Picture As or Save Target As - but no Save Image Location. I've tried those other choices of course, but my next instruction, that supposedly comes in a pop-up window where I should right-click on "Reply Post," and then click on Paste - well, it never happens. I never eventually see Reply Post from any of the original right-click choices presented to me.

Where am I going wrong here? Help please.

I'm clueless here. Do you have any URLs where your pics are supposed to be posted?

Save picture as should work if you are trying to grab the pic off the website.

send me the pictures, I will upload them to my website and email you back the location and what to put to post them on the bb

Right click, go to properties, highlight and copy the file name ie: http//www.sparkysweb.com.jpg the paste that image here in a reply with [ img ] before and [ /img ] after the name, without the spaces in the brackets.

If that don't help, ask Harold.

I go to one of my pics on the web (I think it's on the web - it's a hotmail "create you own website thingy") and when I right-click on the pic.....

I don't get a URL - I get a gray box of limited options - they are......

Properties

That is all - no URL - and when I click any of the above - no URL.

I went to properties and saw the URL....

But there is no cut/paste edit option - I can highlight it but then - what? The file tab at the top just says General and there is no bar of icons to push.

Spunky, you've uploaded the picture to the internet, right?
You don't need to copy and save anything, you just need to know what it's location is. When you're looking at the picture in your browser what does the location bar say?

Ok so if you are trying to post a picture in a POST, type the URL you have for the pic into the post and but the VB img tags around it EX:


[.img]http://www.whatever.com/image.jpg[./img]

Without the periods inside the tags. If you want it in your sig line you have to use html

<img src="http://www.whatever.com/image.jpg">

You just confused the wild living hell out of me. I may even be good for a whole three hours because of it. I couldn't figure out if you were having trouble putting your pics on the internet and finding them whereever you'd put them or if you were having trouble putting your pics in your posts.

Once you have the URL highlighted, press CTRL-C (that's the control key and the 'C' key at the same time.

Change windows to your post, and type [, IMG, ],[, /IMG, ] and put the cursor between the two back to brackets. (i.e. ]<cursor>[ also leave out the commas and spaces.)

Press CTRL-V and the URL should be inserted.

If that doesn't work, write down the URL from the properties window, and type it in manually.

In the upper right corner of every BB page is this link, labeled "profile" http://www.literotica.com/forum/member.php?action=editprofile

Go there, give it your name and password, and look at the bottom of the page.

When you enter a post, there is a check box just above the submit button to tell the BB to use the signature for that post.
