My life has been reporting and broadcasting News, objectively, as best I could.

I am so utterly disgusted with the state of the news on cable and network television, that I have offered my services in the following communications, none of which have been answered, and I thought if perhaps a few of you might forward the following, with your own acerbic comments about what a real bastard I am, that it might get some small attention:

There is no live news coverage on US television! That is a travesty! Take a chance Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch, let me revive your failing enterprise!

John Cole...KTRG Honolulu, KKEY Portland, Oregon, a top rated talk show host for ten years, I can fix your problem!

Heard on CNN at 9:52 pm, "The world is watching Japan tonight..." Not on FOX...but on CNN. Do you hear me at all?

I am going to resend this after adding another comment, in hopes that someone, somewhere in your vast organization will actually read this and maybe understand...

At this moment, 8pm, Pacific Time, as real time events in Japan are foreshadowing a meltdown in a nuclear reactor, Fox is re-running Bill O'Reilly...my God, people!

Is all your promotion about being number one in News just fluff for the fanciful? Do you not really care about becoming America's source for News 24/7?

As CNN has become more and more biased towards the progressive, Fox was the only alternative to objective News and now....nothing...how very, very sad.

You probably don't need me to tell you that Fox News got their clock cleaned by CNN in the current Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami disaster, but I am going to tell you anyway.

You won't follow up; but if you would forward this correspondence to Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes, whom I understand underwrite the Fox Network, i would at least feel I have done as much as I can to bring this to the attention of those who direct the efforts of the Network.

I come to you as a long term radio broadcaster, news reporter and talk show host...with an attitude, and I treasure media accuracy, principles and ethical reportage. As I listen to your anchor people claim, day after day, that Fox News is the hub for News, and I find that after your heavyweights, the entire night, every night, is filled with reruns and your weekend is virtually non-existent, I find I must advise you of my perceptions.

I won't be the only observer to note that the Fox News Network has no organization for breaking news around the world and no organization of 'stringers' to report breaking news outside major reporting areas. That is more than obvious to all as your reportage was sadly lacking of late.

If you want what you claim, to be number one in News, why don't you make an effort to be so?

I am older than old, but given a year, and complete cooperation, I could build a contiguous News Organization for you that would really and truly challenge CNN for dominance in the real News world.

I expect you to ignore this...but I am glued to CNN for the latest news on the Japanese tragedy while Geraldo Rivera is making a mockery of objective news reportage.

I am John Cole...Amicus is my writing name and amicusveritasb@yahoo.com is my email address...I expect nothing more than a robo response if that, but, I feel obligated to make the effort.

brian.lewis@foxnews.comAs

I could not find an email address for Roger Ailes or Rupert Murdoch, perhaps you can?

Yeah, I am an ego centric, pompous bastard, all of which are required ingredients for the job I am applying for....take a moment, forward this to Fox and whoever else you think essential...who knows...you may accomplish something....:rose:

popcorn and cider....yeah, but if I get the gig, would you watch and listen?

Couldn't put Humpty together again.

I couldn't follow the plot inside your quote box but I suspect that the real problem here is that cable and network news are obsolete, pandering perhaps to the time stressed and the mindlessly conventional but lacking any intelligent audience. Aside from a professional interest would you seriously try to follow the Japan situation via these outlets?

Times change. You don't have to turn the crank on the old 78 record player anymore. I think pretty well everyone who is truly trying to be informed is on line with their own, hand picked, arsenal of sources.

Do conventional outlets have anything even approaching dialogue or criticism? Maybe a comment list after the article where they might post something after it is reviewed by a moderator of some sort.

I am at a loss to comment on these institutions as I simply no longer watch them. Simple as that.

But when they get before the cameras and pretend to do the NEWS, dressed, coifed and made up to kill, I am looking at the short skirted thighs, the cleavage and the tits and their emotive presentation, puppy dog style, and I wonder what the hell ever happened to the real world?

You have a point, shoulderblade, but I consider it an elitist one.

I am blessed with the ability to communicate with the average person, either in person or through the media and I feel an obligation to to offer my services to the widest possible audience and most people get their news from radio and television, not the Wall Street Journal, the NY Times or the LA paper, or the three CSPAN outlets.

I didn't think this Thread would serve much of a purpose, but I thought to try, just in case you all really want to get rid of me, for it would be 20 hours days seven days a week if I got a crack at rebuilding a true news outlet...and I would truly enjoy the challenge...but...thanks anyway....
