Not very strange, but the strangest I've ever managed: a ski trip where there were no hotels, so we slept in sheds left behind by construction works that had built a nearby dam. If you forgot your water outside your sleeping bag, you had to crack the ice in the morning to get to the liquid.

I once saw a Japanese street gang trying to extort a pachinko parlor literally get beaten off by bag swinging grandma's. It was the most surreal thing I have ever seen.
