man o man am I going to miss the beach!

What was everyone's most memorable event of Summer 2002?

Haven't quite figured out mine yet...

Well, I'm going to miss waking up with honey every morning, and falling asleep with him every night...

Most memorable event?
I dunno... let me think on it

I got married in July. That was not only the highlight of 2002, but, the second best highlight of my life. My first was giving birth to my daughter. :)

Congrats Ezzie!

Unfortuneatley my summer was on the opposite end. My gf broke up with me in mid july. I really thought she was the one.

I must say this is also the highlight of 2002 for myself. I also got married in July. And the first highlight of my life was the exact same as yours, with the exception that I had a son. :)

The time I met her at that small sidewalk cafe in Paris.

She drank Pernod. Her name was Ilse, she was fleeing political persecution. We talked. Gradually it became much, much more.

A week after we met, Paris fell to the Germans. I lost her.Now I just run a gin mill.

I hate summer.

aw Bren. This too shall pass. Believe me I could give you a litany of the fucked up shit I have had to deal with this summer, but I posted this thread cuz I am trying to focus on the positive, so I can take away at least one really good thing. Chin up boy. As I was just saying in another post, go listen to some loud happy music and dance - I am finding Sheryl Crow's 'Soak up the Sun' to be very therapeutic these days. You might not want to at first, but do it anyway. And eat a big bowl of ice cream.

I'm sorry to hear that, Bren. I wish everyone could have the kind of year I'm having. It's been nothing but wonderful.

And, congrats to you Hotred. Hope married life is treating you as well as it's treating me.

Thanks to Peachy and Ezzie. I think I will try that.

:(

I'm sorry.

Congrats to those of you that married!

This summer signifies the last of my time as a stay at home Mom, my little one started all day kindergarten a few weeks ago, and now I must return to work after 9 years at home. :( Life goes on.

Going to miss ...

I will also miss the beach , just hanging out with my friends, waking up late and just catching up with no worries of work or school, also going to miss my hamock , kicking back and soaking up the sun.

I am going to miss the intense summer heat, I know at times I would complain about it but soon it will be gone and fall will roll around. I enjoy fall but summer will always be my favorite time of the year.:)

okay been thinking about it - most rewarding aspect of this summer hasn't been a single event, but the time i've spent with my nephew. He's such a special kid and I hope I have done well by him for the time he's been in my care. I think so.

A most memorable moment: took him to the carnival about a month ago. It was a gorgeous day and I was feeling a bit horny and flirty (so unusual for me...not) and when we got on this one ride I was joking around wth this one cute young worker. As I handed him my bag to put aside while the ride was going, I told him if anything was missig when I got off I would have to hunt him down and kick his ass. Well as soon as the ride stopped he comes trotting over with it like a puppy (I swear he nearly had it between his teeth) and says "So you won't need to kick my ass after all", smiling all cute and adorable (he couldn't have been any older than 19). I smiled back at him and said "That's really too bad. You would have loved having me smack you around a bit" then took my bag and walked away. The look on his face was fabulous.
