I was wondering how many of you have tried products from infomercials and did they work or not?

I was given The Perfect Pancake as a gift and mine is a piece of junk. When I flip it my perfect pancake falls out. In addition, the long bolt in the back keeps falling out. I'm sticking to a griddle.

Anyone else tried something?

Oh boy have I found the perfect thread. I think I've tried them all.

The most recent was, The Ov Glove...works good. Got one for me, my mom, and my sis :)

It's cool. You can pick up hot things with your hand and not get burnt ($20)

I've never seen that one. I have the Turbie Twists for your hair. They work fine too.:)

I tried Cal Max (calcium/magnesium drink)...tasted like shit and didn't really do a thing for me :(

Bought the vegematic...slices, dices, blah blah blah. I found it was faster to just cut onions with a knife :(

Bought the Carleton Sheets course on buying real estate for no money down...paid $249

It's educational but now that everyone on the planet is hunting for lease options to make a deal on, there aren't very many left:(

yeah,..I'm a sucker for all of that stuff.

mixed results all in all.

:D

I have the Ronco Rotisserie; you know, the 'set it and forget it'. One of the first things you're told is that you can not set it and forget it!

I love it! I use it at least 3 times every week. The only thing I don't like is that the baskets are so darn hard to clean. The dishwasher doesn't help, so I started using a scrub brush.

I have fallen for some of those things. With mixed reviews. I got the tiger vacuum, the small compact vacuum cleaner, it is ok, but not like they show on tv. I got the TurboCooker which I love, I had it for about a year before I tried it and I LOVE it! The pasta pan that cook/drain is ok. But the coating in the inside is not very good it comes off and then it is a mess. I always wanted to get one of the Ronco pasta makers, but never did. I got one of those turbie things I think, is that the towel that you twist and has the little rubber band so it doesn't come undone! It works good. I have a sandwich maker, you can still get them, but don't see them advertise anymore. It is great, mine is older than my soon, it does not look all that great, but works marvelous!

One of the local channels here always has a thing on the news testing all those products to see if they are a deal or dud! Cookie I had seen one guy on some show testing alot of those gadgets and this was a professional chef, and he could not get the perfect pancake turner to work either!

I used to want to get them as soon as I heard about them, now I like to wait and see them on tv tests or from some other fool who bought it first and get their opinion. Is that what they call getting wiser as we get older???

edited to add I LOVE my George Foreman grill, couldn't live without it!!!!!!!!!!

I got that hair twister thing too....it didn't work to good on my hair....terrible, just terrible:rose:

I've got that, but my hair stays wet inside it - can't air dry. My Dad got the sandwich maker. Works just as well as a skillet, in my opinion.

What about all the extras they throw in. Sometimes they tell you ,if you buy something for $20,they'll throw in stuff worth $80 free.
Also, sometimes the shipping and handling fees are unbelievable. Once, i saw an inexpensive item had shipping and handling fees higher than the item's cost. It was like

Only $5.95 with $6.95 SHIPPING AND HANDLING.

I bought the food sealer that vacuum seals stuff, it works great. It is also really helpful when marinading chicken, instead of marinading over night, you can do it in about 10 minutes.

I wanna know if anyone tried the "eggstractor?"

I don't know of anyone that has tried it, but it was of them that they tried to see if it worked, it didn't!
