Achieve any writing goals that you set in 2014?

Tomorrow is December first and sometime soon we'll all start thinking of goals for 2015.

Here is a link to a thread I started last year about writing goals for 2014. So question is did you do what you set out to? More, less? Did you end up achieving other goals you made for yourself at some point this year?

Here is the link to last years thread in case people....forgot what they said like I did:rolleyes:

Looking back at my post....didn't really hit the marks.

My first goal was two categories I had not written in and said I would this year Lesbian and Interracial. I did three Lesbian stories, but no IR.

One e-book a month....hit and miss. I missed two months, but had months of publishing more than one.

MY BDSM sequel? The most disappointing. Although I can't complain about how much I wrote this year...that book eludes me. In fact any spin off of any of the characters seems to be....not there for me.

All in all it was a good year for my writing. Won a contest, entered survivor(although doubt I'll place, but I tried) and did put things in a couple of new categories (EH, poetry, First time, Lesbian)

I received some rough news in May and still dealing with the issue, but it will be put behind us this month so I am looking forward to a better 2015 in every way, including writing, but I'll save the goals for whenever I, or someone else, starts that thread.

Didn't have any goals for last year.

For lit this year I really only have one: to write some GM. It's the only other genre I've wanted to write. I've got some ideas cooking.

I have also started a non-erotic novel. Goal is to write one chapter and see how I feel. It's a crime/murder mystery set in LA. It's not noir, but I'm hoping to impress JBJ.

Nope. Only had two goals. Stay on the top 250 authors as RR. Pulled that one off and rose a few ranks.

Second was get out a new story in the Wood series for Earth Day - Epic Fail.

Didn't see the thread last year so I didn't write down my goals for 2014. I vaguely remember something about wanting to become a better writer and to start working towards getting something published.

I would say hit and miss on both of those.

I did two Nano with a collective total of 100 thousand plus words. Plus my regular story volume. Had a couple stories that were well received.

For 2015?

Well, finish my novel "Corsairs in the Night" get it at least on E-book if not to a publishing house.

See if I can take a few steps closer towards writing for money. My normal work is getting unpredictable and stressful, anything extra would be a help.

Start to look at writing contests other than the ones on Lit to try entering. I've seen a lot of them, so entering as many as I could (while akin to buying a lottery ticket) might get me a few accolades to add to my credit.

And again try to become a better writer than I am.

I still have so far to go.

I didn't contribute to last year's thread, which was probably just as well. I didn't set any goals because I didn't think I'd be in a position to meet them. And I was right. I've done very little this year aside from a couple of FAWC stories. I guess for 2015 I can only try to get myself together and into a routine of writing regularly again.

I'd also like to get some of my stuff (back) up for sale.

I wanted to have twenty-six of my titles published to the marketplace. That's the number I'm at now, and there's another month in the year, with manuscript drafts in editing at the publishers, so I guess I'll overfill the plan.

Goals? I had a sort-of goal of one posting per week. Then I stopped caring about writing for a few weeks. Now I don't give a shit. If it's done, fine. If not, whatever.

I had a goal of accumulating Red H's. Most of those disappeared overnight a couple weeks ago, along with many of my good vote scores. So now, I don't give a shit.

I did some editing, some good work too, as evidenced by the Hallowe'en contest winner, but now I'm tired of editing others. So I don't give a shit.

That's where I mostly am now. Fuck goals. Just do it. Or not. Whatever.

I had a serious case of I don't give a shit in August and September, then I reamed myself for being a quitter and managed to give somewhat of a shit the last couple of months....writing wise anyway as for real life, the not giving a shit kicked off around May and I'm still in it.

Goal is the same as for last year. Anything beyond that is asking too much of myself.

I might set the same as well except to add starting a series I think could be a lot of fun to write, just not sure if I'll put it here or do it as a series of short e-books.

I happened to be up when my last story posted. I could track exactly what happened with the first three votes, which were a 1, 1, and a 2.

Every single new story in Incest had a 1 or a 2 score. They had ALL been bombed, except one, which was still at 5.00 and lo and behold had a Comment saying "I can't believe this is your first story! You're an awesome writer!"

Point being, F the bombers. It's good not to give a shit about that.

Oh hell with that! My goal is to get out of bed with as little organic pain as possible. After that, it's all whipped cream and a cherry!

I thought I'd write a sequel. I stead I wrote a prequel. I'm almost done with it anyway.

I most likely won't be around the end of the month so figured I would start it early.

and....if I didn't so it when I thought of it...I'd forget.

I honestly have a horrible mental calendar. It's about to be December, I barely processed that. I guess I should attain my first degree come New Year or...whenever graduation is. I feel good about that. By the time Feb 2015 comes in I want a stable income, no matter what it is I want to begin my new life. And enroll in a BA program.

Huh… well, I wrote a book. Any ideas how to get it published?

I hope to write another one next year, this time something more complicated.

Don't give a shit is where I am since June. The thrill is gone for LIT.

Well didn't quite make all of the contests this year, missed the Summer Contest. Did write in a couple of new categories so at least made that goal. Not sure what to set as a goal for next year, hmmm.

I had to check the old thread to remember what I wrote, and laughed when I realized I hadn't hit any of the goals I'd listed.

On the positive side I did take part in my first FAWC and Nanowrimo so, as far as writing goes, 2014 was a good year.

I did better in 2014 than in 2013.

I posted nine stories and one poem. But I posted virtually the same story twice - Escaping Cybele and Limit of Authority - because I had forgotten I had completed Escaping Cybele. I had temporarily misplaced the completed version when upgrading computers. So I could say TEN stories.

My main aim was to complete outstanding series. I did one - Harold Plays The Hero - but I still have a few that need finishing.

For November and NaNoWriMo I had hoped to complete some part finished stories and post them, but a family crisis intervened. Crisis hopefully settled TODAY, and I'll try for some more stories in December.

Aim for next year? A couple of stories as jeanne_d_artois; complete some outstanding series and the sequel to Miranda the Witch. The last one should be a marathon of many Lit pages so it might take longer than the year.

I'm pleased with what I have managed to write this year even if I had wanted to have written more.
