My family is musical. Everyone in the extended family can play some instrument, usually several. Daughters - piano and clarinet; piano, guitar and recorders; and piano and bassoon.

Not me. At school the only instrument that was available for me to take lessons was a violin. After 5 terms the teacher decided that my physical disabilities were so bad that enough was enough.

It didn't help that the unheated music room was above the pigsty. In summer the smell was strong. In winter I had to play wearing fingerless gloves. The violin didn't appreciate the conditions either.

PS. My brother did his National Service in the Royal Navy. He had a succession of 'fighting guitars' - cheap Spanish guitars that could be used in a bar room brawl and replaced at small outlay. I inherited one that had a twisted neck after being bounced off the head of a drunk Marine.

You can buy containers at Hobby Lobby if you have one of those near-by. (Hobby Lobby also has a wonderful assortment of flavors if you don't want to go w/the candy mentioned in the article) You'll want the little round plastic containers w/screw-on lids that you stick your finger in as opposed to a chapstick tube, due to the consistency. It's a lot of fun and they make great stocking stuffers!!
