Anyone else have a love of crafting, creating something unique in any way possible. I do most all of it. I sew, crochet, paint, make jewelry, beadwork, embroider, and now I want to learn to sculpt with something other than play dough. I ran across this the other day http://www3.telus.net/camilleallen/camilleallen/id17.htm

Her work is gorgeous and I'd like to learn a bit about polymer sculpture.
Whats your passion to create.Other than the written word.

I love being crafty. If I see something I like I try to figure out how to do it my way.

I love decoupage- although I've only done it once.

I think it would be cool to dec out a set of glass plates with metalic paints and big flowers or something.

Truly amazing work!

I love to crochet, paint, sew, cook, embroider, sclupt, play music (newest instrument is the tin whistle), paper mache', anything I can get my hands on pretty much. Time and money set the limits there. Used to do a lot of ceramics but haven't messed around with that in years. Luckily I can indulge my creative obsession at work.:D

Mat loves to embroider, tapestry, draw, woodcarve, create pictures with dried leaves, photography, cook.........but over the last year or more has done very little of it......even did corn dollies once........wonderful things, dried flowers and fruits.......

Once work is over (yeehawwwwwwwww), then its time for me to dig deep into my unpacked crates and get out the equipment.

I sew, paint, do cross stitch, decoupage, macrame (plant hangers). Made all the curtains in the house & most of the throw pillows & dust ruffles.

I prefer to paint, though -- abstract. The kind that makes the rednecks say, "Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit! My 3-year-old does better with his finger paints."

I crochet blankets, but they all end up in Pine Ridge. :)

(well, except for a few. ;) )

I would if I could

I enjoy creative arts. My hands don't. They are very clumsy. I didn't inherit the family's ambidextrous talents. I am ambisinistrous - equally useless with both hands.

I was intending to take A level art and go to art college until it became obvious that my physical limitations would prevent me from turning my creative ideas into solid art, either two or three dimensional. I enjoyed pottery but the shapes never matched my intentions. Backdrop painting for amateur dramatics on a canvas 12 feet high and 30 feet wide - that I CAN DO.

So I changed to writing. Now I can use word processing software my scrawl is readable.

My brother has the artistic talent and the hands to produce it.

I enjoy rough wood working, carpentry, etc. I also cook and am learning to sew. (Teaching myself. My wife will see something she likes but costs way too much for us to buy so I try to make it for her.)

I just made a set of beaded Nipple Hangers for her. (Unpierced nipples so I had to find a way to keep them on. Experimenting with things like this certainly makes life interesting.) So far they have stayed on since I finished them at 1630 this afternoon. (It is now 2000) I think they work right. :D

Oh and here are some pics of them, my first attempt so be kind. (I have an idea on how to make them with silver but that will have to wait until PayDay.)

I work with my hands by preference. I used to build minatures for films, I loved it!
I sew (but not clothing) do fine carpentry, and various forms of woodworking.
Hey, I turn wooden dildoes! (guaranteed no splinters) :D
but, right now- it's all words, all words.

I love the arts. I carry a sketch book with me to school and do rough sketches alot. I paint sometimes.....not really any good...but it is fun. I embroider, cook, sew, make jewelry(beaded and silver) and do pottery.

I dance. I've learned classical dances. Love the folk and traditional dances from my culture. I've been dancing since I was little. I have been known to dabble with writing music. I have one piece written for the piano that I finished and it isn't too bad to listen to.

I've got several finished, and several partially finished, and several conceptual-designed stained-glass pieces in my house.
This is my design for a panel that I started working on a couple years ago, but I put it aside. It's based on a painting by a Chinese artist named Ting Shao-Kuang. I've actually got most of the intricate parts done, so I should get back to it and finish it. I've done other projects in the meantime. The one called window below is one that I made for my sister's house, and the one called strawberry window is a design I made for my parent's house to go with their wallpaper, but I haven't made it yet.

I highly recommend stained glass as a hobby for the dextrously-challenged. You don't need to be able to draw or paint, you just need a good eye for color and be able to figure out how to cut out and fit together a puzzle. The glass itself is so beautiful that it's hard to make something that isn't really nice, even if it's just squares and rectangles. It's a little pricey if you get the tools, but there are usually places that have classes in most medium-to-large cities. It's very satisfying, because the results are so nice.

Nice, Cat!
Grats on the sewing, too! Years ago, there was a company called Frostline Kits that sold kits to make down-filled jackets and sleeping bags, packs, tents, etc. I made myself a down coat and some packs for my bike, though my mother had to help with putting in the zippers. I don't know whatever happened to them.

I wish I could sew. Except for emergency repairs, however, I'm fairly helpless.

I do cross stitch, and very well, though I haven't had the time for it in awhile.

But I do love making things. Costumes, decorations, set designs, etc.

I'm hell on wheels with a hot glue gun.

My gun is huge and cordless.

:cathappy:

Woodnymph,

They were actually quite easy to make. Not quite so easy to put on, (but oh so much fun for both of us.) and a blast to watch as she walks around.

I do stuff I suck at(playing piano) quite frequently......what matters is enjoying it not how talented you are.

Unless, you happen to be the one subjected to my playing the piano then my lack of talent could be an issue

Dance, now, that I can do and do it well:D

well last night as I tried to comfort myself over my failed nude painting , I told myself no one is perfect at everything. Glad to hear you suck at piano , now I know i'm not the only one :D How about you come play badly and I'll dance badly to the tune? I bet we'd still have a ball

If you REALLY want to doubt your musical ability, pick up a fiddle. :D

I can pick out a tune on just about any stringed instrument within a couple of minutes.....not this time.

I finally sorta got "Mary Had a Little Lamb" down enough to be recognizable, but it still sounded like a cat had gotten thrown into a blender or something.

probably didn't help that I was drunk, either.
