The man suspected of killing 16 villagers in a grisly pre-dawn attack that sparked rage in Afghanistan has been identified by the military as Army Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, a decorated combat veteran who once took pride in saving civilian lives.

Bales arrived late Friday at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where he was being held in solitary, pre-trial confinement at the Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility, the Army said in a statement.

Until then, the Army had withheld Bales' name after Sunday's rampage in Panjwai district of Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province.

you raise a few good points. Since usOFa is in favour of having people who offend america extradited, such as autistic youths, to face charges in america.. then this guy should stand trial in Afghanistan. (or send vetteman in his place)

I agree....that is a crock of shit. The US should not be able to just summon whoever the fuck they want. But I'll be god damned if that man stands trial in Afghanistan...I will personally see that never happens should it come to it.

The man may be a crazy war criminal but he has served for years in an otherwise honorable military career, and being simply handed over to the enemy ain't no way for no soldier to die even if he did completely lose his shit. Put a .45 to his temple and pull the trigger fine, but he will never be handed over.
