Arguing for the sake of argument?

Hmmm sometimes I look around here and I wonder...are there times that you feel you've been drawn into argument just for the sake of it? I know I'm guilty of it. There are just times where...there is no rhyme or reason for it...but it does happen. I don't know where I'm going with this, just kind of curious. As a wise person I clash with sometimes put it:

"Don't worry about the 'clashes', common place with me on that forum, it is a pretty secular place."

But I'll admit, there are times I do feel bad, that perhaps I've pushed someone, ticked them off a bit. I know I feel that way sometimes here, irritated at others. -shrugs- Maybe this is just a thread to say "Hey, I do feel bad if I ticked you off, and I appologize for it".

I'm quite new so tend to stay out of them, though I'm tempted at times!

I'm a very passionate person, and I'm not referring to just sex here. I feel very deeply about a lot of things, and as most know, I have no problem saying exactly what I feel or think. As Abs says to me at least once a day: "But how do you really feel?" ;)

So....I argue, debate, whatever, passionately. Most of the time there aren't any lasting hurt feelings. :)

eta: for anyone wondering...yes, I'm like that in meat space, too. :D

I take issue with this... something! ;)

I'm not big on arguing, I prefer logical discussion and exploration of ideas.

It's all the fault of those left-wing people who want universal health care...

I don't have anything to add, I'm just stalking Mack.

On the other hand.

Never apologise.

I think it happens all the time on Lit. Not being dragged into it, but watching the stupid little debate threads. I think it's one of those things certain Litsters have to do to pump their dicks up or something.

I suppose it's better to just leave the poor people dying on the streets is it?

I'm a UK sociologist...... whaddya expect? ;)

Oh! Dont fret about it. There arent many posters here mentally equipted to argue anything. Brawls and quarrels and word salad spew is the usual fare here.

I'd argue that arguing for the sake of arguing is, arguably, argumentative. :D

Arguing for the sake of arguing can be counterproductive...but fucking for the sake of fucking never has a grey cloud in the sky! :D

Some members need the fluffing. ;)

Argument is a good displacement activity when the muses are not available.

I like a good clean fight. Sometimes it's more honest than other forms of communication. But, I do prefer physical fights to verbal ones. They're more real.
