... on my plate right now. I need it cleaned!
No, I'm not being Rude, Dude, just having a mini-rant-get-stuff-off-my-chest-kind-of-thingy.
This place doesn't help, for starters. Too many fun distractions going on. But, all work and no play, and all that.
Anyway, I've got about 15 gazillion short stories on the go right now. Ok, not that many, more like 5, but it seems a lot. I've also got about 30 stories to read and review (with a view to placing some on my site), another 6 to provide full crits on, a novel to edit, and another to write. Oh, and some dirty emails to write, but that's another thing entirely.
*ahem*
All of this wouldn't normally be a problem; a stroll in the park, in fact (oh, how I love to write and read the work of others), but, I have just volunteered myself to take over the running of the Shocklines Writers' Group. Why do I do these things? Am I mad? Stupid? A glutton for punishment?
I now have to oversee, and keep in check, over 30 crazy horror writers. Sort out teams, schedule submission dates, chase up late crits, keep moral high, and whip anyone who slacks. The previous "leader" dropped out (exhaustion, I think), and I got begging letters, asking me to take over. I'm just a girl who can't say no.
Oh well, if nothing else, it will raise my profile in the horror writing world, and get me some recognition. I'm also getting "in" with a few publishers, in the process. Yes, I *do* have a cunning plan. Muahahahaha!!!
Soooo... if any other horror writers out there are interested in joining an energitic (if mildly disturbed) writing group, let me know, and I'll direct you to the SWG.
Cheers! I feel better now.
Lou
